“Tempest. You awake?”
“Just getting there.”

“We need to go out. It’s a beautiful day.”
“What do you want to do out there.”

“There’s our ball. We could play fetch.”
“Yeah, that does sound like fun.”

“What are you sniffing?”
“I’m not sure, but it is a wild thing.”

“Looks like it ran right through here.”
“Yeah. If I didn’t know better, I would say it was a T-Rex.”

“Come on, T-Rex’s have been extinct for centuries.”
“I’m just saying what my nose is telling me.”

“Now I have to ask. When was the last time your nose came in contact with a T-Rex?”
“Okay, you got me. I have never smelled a T-Rex.”

“Could you be picking up the fragrance of Eau de lizard?”
“You know that makes sense. Same scent family.”

“Well, I can tell you it is not a mammal for sure.”
“How do you know?”

Mammals tend to mark their territory. I don’t pick that up.”
“What about fetching the ball?”

“I think we better report to Mom that some kind of lizard is roaming around out here.”
“Will we come back to play ball?”

“Yeah, right after I file my report.”
“Don’t mention the T-Rex, okay?”
“She wouldn’t believe me even if I did.”
“Good.”

Hey – did they ever get the ball?!

After the report, they had a game of fetch. Yes, they got the ball.

What an imagination! Mom can set them straight – and maybe throw them the ball. Another fun dialogue, John. 🌞

It’s pleasing to see the girls on such a beautiful day, and interesting that Tempeste will file a report. It’s snowing up here, building up on the lawn, melting away on the pavement.

Sorry about the snow. You must be getting tired of that by now.

Eau de lizard made me laugh. There are perfumes for humans that are too similar for my taste — no wonder the girls picked up the scent.

Only Tempeste would come up with a T rex., but I think Eau de Lizard is comparable. The girls bring me a smile and fun every week. Did they ever get out to play ball after they filed their report?

Yes, they did play, after all. Thanks, Noelle.

So much for playing ball! Dot and Lia like to chase geckos but those little guys are too fast for them.

That would be fun. I’m not going to tell Tempeste and Twiggy about Dot and Lia’s hobby. 😀 So far, they just look at the geckos.

We have it sub-fenced since Tempeste is still eating leaves. We hope that puppy stuff goes away so they can have a full run of the yard.

She’s a riot. I guess she really is still kind of a puppy. Twiggy is much more level-headed. Too funny.

I remember those lizards!! They used to terrify me … almost as much as bats. The Monk has never come into contact with one, but we applaud the girls’ excellent sense of smell!

You just never know kids…I mean they just designed a dire wolf so a T-Rex isn’t out of the possibility of something weird happening. Here’s hoping you got some tasty treats for keeping the perimeter safe.
