“Twiggy. Let’s hit the backyard.”
“That does sound good. What should we play?”

“We could do the Panther and Puma hunting game.”
“We haven’t done that for quite a long time.”

“I know. So what will it take to see some movement on your side?”
“The Puma is resting at the highest part of the hill looking over the valley.”

“Hey Puma. You better not scare the folks like last time.”
“Don’t worry. The puma has more sense than to jump into the valley.”

“Okay. I left a leaf here when I came in last time.”
“You aren’t supposed to be eating leaves. I’ll bet Mom picked it up.”

“Makes me wonder how she knows it’s there. I also had a stick over here.”
“Are we going to play Panther and Puma, or will you continue talking about leaves and sticks?”

“I don’t know how you feel when your stuff disappears, but it is unnerving.”
“For heaven’s sake. Those leaves and sticks aren’t your stuff. They are forbidden fruit.”

“I would like to see how you react if someone took your leaves.”
“Oh, brother. Do you know if you stopped eating sticks and leaves, we would have the run of the yard?”

“Hey, Mom. Is that true?”
“Is what true?”
“If I stop eating sticks and leaves, would we have the run of the yard?”
“Absolutely true.”

“Told ya, Tempeste. Why don’t you give them up?”
“I don’t have a good reason, Twiggy. I think I’m addicted.”
“Hello, leaves and sticks intervention.”

What a charmed life – worry-free and much-loved. Have a great day, John, and a delightful Easter weekend. 🌞

Poor Tempeste. Meanwhile, I’d be thrilled if someone removed dead leaves from my yard.
Sending the girls belly rubs.

Thanks for the belly rubs, Miss Staci. Leaves and Tempeste do not agree with each other. 😀

LOL! That was fun. I hope she does give them up. Panther and Puma would have so much more room to romp and play.

So you’re saying twigs and leaves are Tempeste’s version of my reaction to ice cream? You’d better watch her; given the absence of real twigs, she might try gnawing on Twiggy’s leg.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Ha ha ha. Yes, Tempeste looks at leaves and twigs like ice cream treats. She has plenty of stuff to chew, but I guess it would be like commonplace as opposed to forbidden temptation. Thanks, Linda.

I hope so. She is a year now, and they say two years is when most of the puppy stuff goes away.

Tempeste, I agree with you. When my stuff disappears it’s quite unnerving too. We women like our things. Twiggy might just be over it, if you know what I mean. Age does that. Don’t tell her I said that.

Your secret is safe with me, Miss Susannah. I have to say Twiggy is quite stuffy these days. She just turned seven, and that’s over forty in dog years.

It doesn’t seem to matter how much we buy them to chew on — they prefer the things they’re NOT supposed to eat (like the Monk and the grape). Sort of reminds me of how many kids would rather play with an empty cardboard box than the toy that came within it.

So true. I will be glad when she stops eating leaves and twigs. Drives me nuts.

Ah, Miss. Tempeste, you are quite the glutton for punishment, both in your body as well as in the pen. Listen to Miss. Twiggy and your mom and perhaps we will be able to switch glutton to epicurean! xx

Good advice, Miss Annette. Of course, listening to Mom and Twiggy takes some of the fun out of being a puppy. 😊

Intervention… LOL. You reminded me of a great veterinarian I had ages ago. He told me about a dog-patient whose owner couldn’t keep from eating rocks. The dog ate a bellyful of rocks (he said you could even see the shapes of the rocks because there were so many) and the vet had to do surgery. Then it went right back to eating rocks. But I digress — thanks for a fun visit with the girls, John. Hugs.

Thank you, Traci. Try to empty your cache. If all the buttons are missing, then you may be having memory issues on your end. A full cache is usually the culprit. Google “empty cache” for whatever browser you are using. (safari etc)

Tempeste, you must not eat leaves and twigs!
I understand, they can be quite tasty, as I enjoy a good leaf myself every once in awhile.
Like Twiggy says, then you can have the run of the yard, and I urge you to avoid an intervention!
