I love shows like this, John. Great photos and cool planes and cars. I can’t count how many of those balsa wood gliders I had growing up. That picture brought back some nice memories. The little free library is also a good sight.

In a nod to Pepe’s in New Have, I’ll have the White Clam Pizza.

I appreciated that they mentioned New Haven. I never had a white clam pizza. I did have a white pizza in Pittsburgh, though.

Pepe’s clam pizza is whole clams, not chopped. At least it was when I was working. A group of us would go down every now and then, and we always got a clam pie as an appetizer.

Great job, by you and the airfield!
Being as we live below the small aircraft airways, we have a number of these small fields around. They are so hidden though, very few know they exist.

Thanks, GP. This one is pretty big but is surrounded by homes, so it is out of sight, too.

I’ve noticed that these air developments are becoming a thing. It probably takes a special mindset to live on an airfield like that.

Not really. It looked like any other subdivision, only with a runway, wide driveways, and wide garages.

Oh yeah. We had a developer who tried to put one of these in around here but it didn’t… take off. 🥁

    Awesome

I did not know you had an airport. My grandson is a flight instructor at three different airports in Indiana. On August 3rd his company is having a fly-in at the Kankakee airport. I plan on going. Free breakfast :-). Lots of old planes. Also cars, live music and more. I love this stuff.

My daughter, Michele and her family live on an airport runway. Lots of gliders and hot air balloons. Clay has a 180 Cessna tail-dragger. Very cool.

Vintage sports cars and airplanes?? I think that’s pretty close to heaven, John! Did they offer free (or paid) rides? If so, I’d have been at the head of the line! Thanks for a lovely Sunday (though I suspect this event actually took place on Saturday, right?!)

The event was on the Saturday before yesterday. I try to stay a week ahead if possible. There were no rides offered. Given that the ownership of the airpark is all private, I don’t think they wanted the liability. Thanks, Debbie.

My family would be in heaven with vintage cars and airplanes – we all like them. I believe I actually flew in a Piper like the one your photographed. My Uncle Jim was a pilot and would fly to Plymouth to visit us each year. We put towels out on our lawn to let him know where we were!

For me, “experimental” and “homemade” should not be adjectives to modify the noun “airplane.”

Oh, this is a fun tour, John! I loved seeing the unusual and vintage planes — especially the yellow one. By now you know that I went nuts for that old Corvette. Thanks for the Steve Miller song that I hadn’t thought about in ages. Hugs.

Would it be extremely hoggish (yes) to have one of each pizza slice?
