Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Tempeste Wait for Mom.

“Hey Twiggy. Where’s Mom?”

“Um, I’m not sure.”

“Not sure? What are you crazy?”

“What does that supposed to mean?”

“If she gets out of our sight, we may lose her forever.”

“I don’t think so. Be patient. She’ll show up.”

“In case you haven’t noticed, patience is not one of my virtues.”

“Well, what are you afraid of then?”

“When Mom disappears, she is out of my control.”

“Well, that sounds a little nuts to me.”

“What I mean is I get concerned about her.”

“Goodness, she has been around a lot longer than you.”

“Okay, I admit it. I get insecure when she’s not in my sight.”

“Like all Frenchies.”

“I’m checking behind the bikes.”

“Yeah, go ahead and hide out. I think I hear her.”

“You do? Where is she?”

“Coming this way from the garage.”

“Oh, I see her. Hey, Mom, here we are. Yoo hoo, Mom.

“She’s coming. By the way, you better figure out what you are going to say about the pillows you messed up.”

“I’m going to blame you.”

“Ha ha ha. She’ll never fall for that, but give it your best shot.”

  1. Of course the girls are delightful, but here’s an unrelated question: is that black and white rug new? I don’t remember seeing it before, and it’s exceptionally attractive!

  2. Mom is obviously an important part of this family. Could it be that she (like me) is the one who feeds them? Dot & Lia get very excited when I return, even if I was only gone a little while. Lia follows me around like a little shadow! Twiggy looks like she is feeling better.

    1. The funny thing is, I feed them. They just like Mom better is all. Twiggy is feeling better but still has a droop. She is shaking much better. I know that’s a small item, but she couldn’t shake when she first got home. Thanks, Darlene

  3. Twiggy’s maturity is shining through. And hey, at least Tempeste knows that she is not patient, so there is that! I guess they have a bit of anxiety when Mom is not within eyesight!

    How’s our Twiggy doing?

    1. Yes, they love their mom. Twiggy is doing okay. She is eating well and sleeping well. She still has a head tilt and drooping muzzle. Not sure if that will ever go away. She is playing with toys and has her shake back. (She couldnt shake when she first got home) So these are all small improvements. Thanks, Dale

  4. This all sounds very familiar, John, except from a cat. She follows us around from a cat-like distance and waits at the door for us if we dare leave the house and her. No pillow issues though.

  5. Are Frenchies Velcro dogs, too? The reason I ask is that Monk is, for sure. He’s GOT to know where I am at all times, and he frets big time if he doesn’t. Hide-and-Seek is not his favorite game, as you can imagine! By the way, I’m with Linda on that black and white rug – it’s gorgeous!

    1. Thank you, Debbie. More of The Producer’s design ability. Yes, Frenchies are Velcro dogs. They follow us everywhere and have to be in the same room. They don’t need to be on us, but they certainly should be in the same room.

        1. The Monk never believes that. He seems to think he’s living with the biggest liar in Illinois, or that just maybe, something else will capture my attention and he doesn’t want to miss out on the excitement!

  6. Awww, I’ve missed these two while I was away. I love their devotion. Or perhaps it’s a combination of devotion and insecurity. They need to keep their people where they can see them. Thanks for sharing, John.

  7. Aww, sweet Tempeste…you sound like you’re part sheepdog. Worrying about Mum and where she’s at and how long she’s been away. I had to chuckle listening to you think out loud. Hope she gave you lots of reassuring pets and some tasty treats.

  8. Motherly love and adoration, John. Twiggy is wiser and more patient, and maybe her sister will learn from her…. It’s good to se Twiggy slowly recovering. Much love to you all, always. Xxx ❤️

    1. Twiggy has to see a neurologist on Tuesday. There was no bacterial in the spinal fluid sample so the hunt is still on for the cause of the infection. The doctor suspects that it may be a bone infection. He also believes she has some fluid in her right ear, which will need surgery to remove. Twiggy is happy, eating and sleeping well. Thanks for your concern, Jennie.

      1. Thank you for letting me know, John. I was concerned. Hey, she’s eating, happy, and sleeping well. That speaks volumes. Can you give her an extra treat for me?

  10. Tempeste sounds like a mama, always worried about the family and always wanting to keep everyone safe. And Twiggy, once again the voice of reason. Hope she’s doing well, Boss.

    1. I remember our cats doing that, too. Thanks for the smile, Teagan. Twiggy is doing better. We have a neurological consult next Tuesday to see what can be done about her head tilt. Our doc thinks it might be fluid in the ear canal. We shall see. 🤗

  11. Whew!

Guys, I was really worried there! Tempeste had me going. I should have known Twiggy knows best!

Are you all better now, Twiggy?

Tempeste, just tell mom you were “fluffing” the pillows for her!

    1. Well, Miss Resa, I’m as well as can be expected right now. Still have paralysis on the right side of my face. I’ll be going to a neurologist on Tuesday to see what he can figure out. I have an incredible appetite and do sleep well, so there’s no pain. Your advice to Tempeste was excellent. Dad says Hi.

      1. Okay.. good that you can eat and are not in pain.
You know, our leader in the 1990’s had Bell’s Palsy. Half his face was sort of frozen…droopy, but he was fine.
