This post ran first on Labor Day 2015 and every Labor Day after that. I thought it was pretty good advice, so here it is again.
***
In honor of Labor Day, I’ve decided to boil the top ten list down to the most essential items. Let’s all remember those who make our lives easier and more pleasant. Of course, the remembrance includes us authors.
Top Ten Things Not to Do on Labor Day
10 through 1
On Labor Day, have fun, but do not drink and drive. If you do, at best, you are a fool. At worst, you could hurt or kill an innocent person, not to mention your guilty self.
Happy Labor Day, all.

always great advice from you, John…

GREAT advice, dear John.
For us, it’s unusual to celebrate Labour Day not on May 1st.

As it would be unusual for us to celebrate Labor Day on May 1st. I hope the F4oC have an easy week.

Don’t forget complaining about wind and allergies between those other categories.

Very essential, John. A lot of nuts on the road this weekend, hopefully not having overindulged in Voodoo Ranger!

It is tough to overindulge VooDoo Ranger. After two bottles, you don’t have the strength to pick up a third.

And for gosh sakes, never say to someone, “You’re wearing white? AFTER Labor Day??”

Ha ha ha. That’s why the fashion industry invented “Winter White.”

Darn good advice, John. Happy Labor Day. I have turned the furnace on in the morning once. It’s getting down to the 40’s overnight sometimes.

I always had a job where I had to work on Labor Day – so, I resent the mailman getting it off! What’s an old coot gotta do to get some attention around here?

I don’t think those words in the card on top of the post are valid here in Texas!
Nevertheless: Happy Labor Day to you!

That is certainly a very important advice. We went to my in-laws for a labor day BBQ and I drank an IPA called Tsar Bomba from the Manhattan Project Brewery while grilling. Tsar Bomba was the biggest nuclear bomb ever made. I did not nuke the chicken. Anyway, my wife drove home even though it was just one mile.

Ha ha ha. Been there for sure. At 10.1 % ABV, you have to be careful. The beer is named after the biggest nuclear bomb that has been exploded to date. The Soviets detonated it in 1961. The beer has citrus flavors that I’m not fond of. I’ll bet it was good, though.

So you knew about Tsar Bomba. I think it was a good Hazy IPA, and I like citrus myself, but personally I prefer the Westcoast style IPAs.

I agree. I’m not fond the hazy types.

Loved the meme…but after this summer, it seems inconceivable to complain about cold temps. I’m actually looking forward to them!

Labor day is the last day of the year you’re allowed to wear white. The last time I was in The Hamptons, I made the mistake of wearing white slacks the day after Labor Day. I was never allowed back. And until this day, all the security guards (and cops) carry a picture of me to make sure I don’t sneak in.
Oh, the shame.

Ha ha ha. I guess this was before the invention of winter white.😀
