Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Tempeste Toy Time

“How long are you going to play with Chicken, Tempeste?”

“I just started. I don’t know. Why not get Coco and Dodo?”

“I played with Coco and Dodo a while ago. I was going to play with Chicken next.”

“Well, when I’m through, you are welcome to Chicken. In the meantime, get Coco and Dodo.”

“Okay, I got Coco and Dodo. They are sick of me, and I’m sick of them.”

“That sounds a bit extreme, Twiggy.”

“It’s true. They don’t want to play with me, and I feel the same.”

“Okay, maybe later, Chicken will be yours.”

“I guess you don’t get it. I need chicken now.”

“I never heard of anyone Jonesing for a toy before.”

“It’s not that. You have been hogging that thing for an hour.”

“An hour? No way.”

“Way. I’m going to speak to a higher authority about this.”

“Mom is at the store.”

“Dad. Tempeste has had Chicken for an hour and won’t share.”

“I thought you said higher authority. Here comes Dad’s comment.”

“Don’t listen to Tempest, Dad. Make her give up Chicken.”

“Now, Twiggy. You know that toy sharing is a matter of when one is through with a toy. Now go get Coco and Dodo.”

“Look at Coco and Dodo. They don’t want to play.”

“Then find something else. You have a lot of choices.”

“Boy, Tempeste, you must be a precious pal to Dad.”

“No. He’s the rule man. I think you might have been better off waiting for Mom.”

“Well, just wait until she gets home.”

“In an hour? Yeah, I can wait.”

  1. So, you and Rodney Dangerfield….no respect. Even from the dogs?! Gosh, they sound just like kids! 😂

What is that artwork on the wall in your first picture?

  2. It sucks to have to wait your turn, Twiggy. Just think, it’ll be nice and soppy and full of Tempeste’s drool when she’s done… Oh? Do you still want it so bad? 😉

    These are always so fun.

  3. With all those toys lying around, you’d think they could entertain themselves, huh, John? The Monk is the same way. I could give him a new toy every single day, yet he’d still be all like, “I’m bored, Mama. There’s nothing to do around here!” You’ve captured it beautifully — and I love how they pit one parent against the other!

  4. Haha! That was good, John. “Now pinch-hitting for the higher authority, it’s the one and only, a man that needs no introduction—Dad.”

My line is I’m married to my better three-quarters.
