Yes, there are so many. I had way more photos, but need to keep the post down to a manageable size

Christmas shopping time! Shows like this are so much fun. This looks like a good one, too. Don’t tell me what you bought me! 😂

      I’ll keep it a surprise, Lois. Here’s a hint. You’ll need a bigger garage. 😀

Just the sort of show I’d like to peruse for a few hours. And eat crab vichyssoise.

A lovely way for Lakeway to support its area talented vendors, John. Thanks for letting me join the fun. So many nice things to look at — I hope it was a successful day for the sellers!

Thanks for this lovely outing, John. I used to love note cards, so I would have spent a good deal of time at that booth. The ceramics really caught my eye too. “Scarborough Fair” was such a haunting song to me, although not in a sad way. A beautiful, restful soundtrack for this post. Have a sparkling new week. Hugs.
PS: It was fun to see pickled watermelon rind on the menu. I’ve never tried it, but always heard of it (although I haven’t heard it mentioned for many years). 🙂

A lot of interesting stuff going on at the activity/community center. You have such a great neighborhood. The Scarborough Faire song is beautiful. There is a renaissance festival south of Dallas, in Waxahachie, called Scarborough Faire. Sometimes they song that song there.

    1. John W. Howell's avatar

I have heard of that. I have never been to a renaissance fair. Maybe someday. Thanks, Thomas.

I think it is mostly for kids but it is fun for adults too. They have lots of free shows, jousting and a parade, 20+ restaurants with beer. My favorite show is Daniel the Duke of Danger, a comedian who does crazy acrobatics.

Yes, as he says on his website Daniel the Duke of Danger is a professional acrobat and funny dude who has successfully avoided real work since 1981.

This looks like a lot of fun, Boss. Anything involving local artisans is a good time because you never know what you’re going to come across. Sure beats the hell out of big box stores and mall shopping.

    And the perfect video accompaniment.

Here in New England, the conventional wisdom among indie writers is that craft shows are a good place to sell books. Does the same hold true for your areas?
