“Looks like a good day for the yard, Twiggy.”
“I think you are right. Let’s get out there.”

“Hey. Wait a minute. There’s a fence cutting off my favorite part of the yard.”
“I think the rents are preparing for fall.”

“What do you mean by preparing for fall?”
“Well, you know how you love to eat acorns and crape myrtle leaves.”

“I beg your pardon. I don’t eat acorns and crape myrtle leaves.”
“Yeah, right. Anyway, the rents are trying to keep the temptations down to a dull roar.”

“So they put up a fence to keep me out of the area where those delectable..er, I mean dead leaves fall?”
“That is a good summary. They also moved the tent so the other leaves will stay off the turf.”

“Yeah, well, there is a leaf that broke through.”
“There will be some, of course, but the majority will not be available to you.”

“I don’t get what is so wrong with eating leaves.”
“Obviously, since you do it a lot.”

“Well, if I’m going to be accused of doing it, might as well do it.”
“Spoken like every heroin user on the planet.”
“What’s heroin?”
“To you, it’s that thing in your mouth.”
A reminder. I will be on a break from tomorrow until Thursday, October 2nd.

Tempeste is such a sweet pup, always looking for an adventure, and your beautiful backyard provides that opportunity. My neighbor’s dog tries to chew rocks, not a good thing to do. 🙄 I hope you have a wonderful break, John. Rest, laugh, and play. 😊

Tempeste would love my neighbor’s beech tree with its bounty of beech nuts that invariably shed in my yard. Of course, she’d have to get through the prickly cover to get the seed. Might be too much work.

Oh, I don’t know. Tempeste doesn’t seem to have a problem chewing through everything. Thanks, Steve.

Thank you so much for not letting us miss an episode of the girls’ adventures. They are so darned cute! And I guess it’s okay for Tempeste to have ONE leaf. I don’t understand the attraction for acorns, all though you can make flour out of them. You and your wife take exceptional care of them. Have a good break, come back rested. We are off to Maine next week for leaf color! and selling books.

It is strange the things they want to eat that aren’t good for them. My grandma had a dog who ate whole walnuts. Later she needed surgery to remove one. I have a cat who loves plastic and requires watching. Enjoy your break, John!

Ah yes, John…Fall preparations are well underway, especially in the yard. Temptations must be kept to a minimum. Our leaves go where ever they darn well please on our street. We have no trees, but we appear to be at the very least a way station for everyone else’s leaves. Hope you are enjoying your break, sir.

Like every heroin user. Haha. I’ve never had a dog. Please forgive my ignorance. Why is that heroin of choice bad for your dog to eat?
LikeLiked by 1 person
There are some toxic varieties that, when they get too much, it starts a cycle leading to an imbalance in the stomach. The dog then refuses to eat. You can see the long-term problems.
