Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy Worries About Tempeste

“So, Tempest, you’ve been playing around that tree, right?”

“How’d you know?”

“I heard the fence move, and that can only mean one thing.”

“Well, I may have tried to get to an ornament or two.”

“You know that is the quickest way to drive Mom up the wall.”

“How much could it hurt? There are plenty of ornaments.”

“That’s not the point. She doesn’t want you swallowing anything harmful.”

“I don’t think a couple of needles would be harmful.”

“Says the dope who continues to eat leaves. Say, what’s that on your face?”

“Face? Nothing.”

“Oh man. You have got to be kidding me. You got an ornament. Where is it?”

“Okay, you caught me. It’s over under the tree.”

“Come here and wipe your mouth like this.”

“Why? I didn’t eat anything.”

“Trust me, you need to wipe your face. You need to spend some quality time doing that.”

“I don’t know what you are talking about. I didn’t eat anything.”

“That’s not going to help you when Mom sees your face.”

“Oh, hi, Mom.”

“I can’t bear to watch.”

“Tempest, do you know anything about this ornament on the floor?”

“What ornament?”

  1. I don’t know what’s funnier—muzzle glitter or the look of mock innocence. Tempeste is lucky to have Twiggy looking out for her. Too bad she doesn’t take her big sister’s advice. As always, thanks for the smiles, John.

Sending the girls belly rubs and ear scratches, and you and yours (the girls included) wishes for a very merry Christmas and happy new year.

  2. This so made me laugh. What ornament? She does look terribly guilty despite pretending she hasn’t a clue. As far as Twiggy goes, that’s what I call a good, big sister. How’s mom? On the couch with a drink? 🙂

  3. Miss. Tempeste, you are a caution! Loveable little dickens, but a caution none the less. Miss. Twiggy, you are a terrific role model and a grand older sister. ❤ As Christmas is but one week from today, I pray there will be enough ornaments still left on the tree…

  4. Uh-oh, caught in the act. Tempeste, you should know by now that moms have eyes in the back of their heads! As least Twiggy was trying to run interference … even if that was somewhat misguided!

  5. “Who, me?” That’s the same look I give Mrs. B when I’ve sampled something in the fridge I was forbidden to touch. That being said, Tempeste looks a lot less guilty here than I have.
