Thursday – Anything Possible – Twiggy and Tempeste at Home

“You know I haven’t jumped off the couch in months.”

“This is not the time to start again.”

“It does look pretty far down there.”

“A dislocated hip just waiting to happen.”

“Oh, come on. There is a bed on the floor.”

“With one inch of padding.”

“Why are you always a killjoy?”

“Five years older than you is why.”

“I guess experience does count for something.”

“Yeah, try a $5000 visit to the emergency vet.”

“Oooh. I don’t like that place at all.”

“So, get off the back of the couch.”

“I think you are right.”

“So why don’t you get off?”

“Did you ever hear of an irresistible impulse?”

“Oh, brother. Now I’ve heard everything.”

“What do you say we go out and chase a ball?”

“At last, you have come to your senses.”

“If only I could break away from this couch back.”

“Please stop.”

Jumping off things can be dangerous, kids. Just ask Lai. She ran at break neck speed and jumped over a short wall last week, fell on her back and couldn’t walk. A rushed trip to the vet resulted in x-rays, a shot and pills. She is OK now but can’t get up on the couch or bed without help. She is lucky nothing broke. It almost gave us a heart attack. Has it slowed her down? No!

OMG, Darlene. That must have been a scare and a half. We try to keep these two from jumping off anything. There are steps, ramps, and a whole set of gates. I’m so glad Lia is doing better. 😊

I must agree with Miss. Twiggy here… Miss. Tempeste, you have such a sense of adventure, and your sister, the sensibility! Have a great day, young ladies! ❤

Wisdom can be a downer sometimes, but it can save us from a lot of pain. Great dialogue, John, as always. 😊

Seriously. Every time one has to go to the vet, one needs a deep breath, a prayer and hope that it won’t put you in the poor house!

Holy crap! You know it’s crazy when you have to take insurance on your pets. I admit to never having done so… Thankfully, that was never a bad thing.

When it comes to irresistible impulses, even personal knowledge of the consequences doesn’t always keep things in check. Advice from others? Forget about it — there’s that challenge waiting!
