Honored to have had these great people walk the earth, doing what came naturally to them, to make this world a better place. I am also honored to have been able to shake the hand of and thank Rosa Parks for her courage! I can only hope that by doing what comes naturally to me, I can leave a legacy of making a difference…

Walking that trail must be exceptionally peaceful, John, and having those informative plaques to pause and peruse only adds to the charm. Lakeway scores another plus in my book!

It was very peaceful. The temps were in the 70s with a light breeze. Almost perfect. Thanks, Debbie.

John, once again, I’m so impressed by your community’s many different activities that serve to educate and entertain the general public. From holiday celebrations, art shows, family activities and social awareness programs, your town certainly seems focused on its citizens in many positive ways.
The placards of historical Black Americans on the trail is very done. By the way, Frederick Douglas spent much of his life here in Rochester, NY and is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, just s few minutes from my neighborhood. Interestingly, Susan B Anthony is also interred there and the main bridge in downtown Rochester is named after both of them. The Rochester airport is named in honor of Douglas and there are 13 statues of him arrayed throughout the city.
Probably more info than you wanted to know, John 🤓. Have a great day!

Always like to know more about history, Steve. I visited Rochester once to interview at CooperVision. It was very cold, I remember. Didn’t get to see the sights, though.

Cooper, aren’t they a division, or spinoff, of Bausch & Lomb, another major company that started here, along with Kodak, Xerox, Gannet, French’s Mustard?

Yeah. This was back in 1990. I was interviewing for a division General Manager role. Didn’t get it.

The exhibit is very well done. Of course I had to listen to the Satchmo video. Every time I hear him perform the song, it chokes me up.

Thanks for taking us along, John. BTW, Katherine Johnson did graduate work at WVU. I think she had an honorary degree. Fellow alum, doncha know.
I’ll have the All American – with bacon and some of that sourdough toast.

Wonderful tributes! I would like to take that tour. I just finished reading “Eternal Road: The Final Stop” and loved it. I plan to share my review on my blog, social media, Amazon, and Goodreads on Wednesday, March 4th. Thank you for an entertaining and thought-provoking read!

A very interesting collection of signs / stations. I haven’t chicken fried steak in a long time so “Chicken Fried Chicken – chorizo gravy, grilled corn, roasted tomato, fried egg” sounds good. However, it is probably not very healthy.

It could be the most unhealthy item on the menu. But I’ll bet it tastes good. 🤣
