Let’s go

The Wilderness Run Logo.

Looks like a great turnout.

Hope no one needs it.

Our grocery chain is very supportive.

Always need a T-shirt.

We know we are in the right place. My money is on 24.

The place to register. No, I’m not running today. Feel fortunate to make it from the car.

In case of an emergency, and to start the race with an airhorn.

Dan Moyer of Friends of the Park has a welcome message.

The starting line.

Tacos at the finish.

Mayor Tom Kilgore welcomes the runners and is the official starter.

The countdown to start is done.

And they are off.

The heron sculpture cheers the runners on.

The finish. Nineteen minutes.

While those guys are still running, it is time for us to have brunch and enjoy some music. I hope you all have a great week.

This: No, I’m not running today. Feel fortunate to make it from the car. Gave me the giggles. I feel like this when I take mom to the shops these days 🙃

This 19-minute run was most likely good for the participants, but it was smart that the firefighters were there, in case. They are medical professionals if they’re like my son, the firefighter.

I like the fact that the run was doable for lots of people – but I didn’t not that you DID the run!?

When I saw “going to see the Lakeway Wilderness Run” I was assuming you weren’t going to be participating. Thanks for clarifying that, John. I was a little worried that they might have a shorter loop for older people.

Skirt steak and eggs sounds pretty good.

They sounded good to me as well. Thanks, Dan. If I were to participate, they would need a day counter rather than a minute counter.

I keep saying it because it is true. What a great town you live in! I love the grocery store supplies the necessary for the participants and the t-shirts are actually affordable!

I’ll go for the shortrib Shakshuka and BonJovi is always a winner!

The more you write about Lakeway, John, the more impressed I become. It seems they’re always coming up with something interesting and engaging. That First Aid table looks a bit vacant — I trust the supplies either hadn’t arrived yet, or were out of sight hoping they wouldn’t be needed!

Yeah, I got to the first aid table a little too early. I don’t think anyone got injured Thanks, Debby

We lived in Fredericksburg, TX, for several months, years ago. Loved it. You’re not too far east, also in the “Hill Country?” Thank you for writing about your community. It brings back very fond memories. This post of yours reaches deeper than I will use up your space to describe. But thank you indeed.

Fredericksburg is about an hour and a quarter East of us. We visit there at least once a year. I’m glad you enjoyed the virtual visit, Paschal. I do a views of the neighborhood each Sunday.

19 minutes for a 5K run is impressive. And to think, 24 didn’t do it!

There was a joke between 24 and me. He uses a cane, and I said, “I’ll bet you come in first.” He laughed

Sorry, but a taco at the finish line is not enough to make me run. LOL. Although it was a lot of fun to check out the race with you, John. Big hugs.

Tis the season for runs. There was a half marathon, 10K and 5 K this morning along the Ralston Creek Trail. The only difference was there weren’t any blackberry biscuits! Doggone it. They sound yummy.
