“What is that guy doing, Twiggy?”
“Mom is redoing a room, and the carpenter is tearing out the old.”

“What do you mean old?”
“There is a door that needs to be replaced with a wall.”
“Well, that doesn’t make any sense. What’s with the gates?”
“To Mom, it does. The gates are to protect the worker from us.”

“I guess that’s all that counts. What are we going to do to a worker anyway? What was that?”
” Barking someone to St. Louis doesn’t hurt, I don’t think. That is the sound of a saw.”
“That noise is sure annoying.”
“Look at it this way. It can’t last forever.”
“Maybe not, but it sure seems like it.”
“Well, it’s only a room and not the whole house. We need to be patient.”

“But he keeps coming and going. Very tempting.”
“He has a job to do. I suggest we give him a pass.”

“A pass? Why would we do that?”
“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe to keep the rents from going nuts.”

“Okay, I’m going to take a rest. Let me know if you need me to engage.”
“That is a good idea. I think I’ll do the same.”

“You hear that?”
“Yeah. Sounded like a gunshot.”
“You ever hear a gunshot?”
“No, but I imagine that noise is what a gunshot sounds like”
A note from The Producer and me. “Heaven help us.”
They bring joy to all of us John hugsxx

Thank you, Miss Annette. We do feel safe now. We need to keep a vigil, though.😊

They are looking very bored. A stranger in the house, and they’re not able to clear the situation. Hostages in the own house. Lol John, I hope you spoiled them with some sweets, after the worker has left. Best wishes, Michael

Construction in the house and dogs don’t mix well. Ours would be cowering in the bedroom. I don’t envy you. (You both may need a drink after this) 🥂

I agree on the drink. I wish ours would cower in the bedroom, but they want to tackle and lick whoever is there. Putting them in the bedroom just gets barks, howls, and loud whines.

It’s nice to see the pretty girls, John. I guess the wall of gates to protect the carpenter is good. They can’t jump over it?
LikeLiked by 1 person
No, they shove against it but can’t go over. Frenchies are not built for a standing jump.

My cats would be ducked under the bed, never to be seen until all was quiet. Good luck to you. Pretty gate, by the way.

These are multicolored gates that we picked up from an ad. A lot cheaper than the regular colored ones.

Another happy Thursday with something from the girls. I love their contemplation of what is happening. “to protect the worker from us” is hilarious, but a gunshot?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah, that was an air hammer driving in drywall nails.

Tempeste has such a great imagination for a dog that’s never heard a gunshot!

I dunno. I think the girls exhibited a great deal of poise under pressure. Or should I say paws under pressure. Imma go with both.

Seeing a home renovation entirely from the pets’ perspective—complete with debating whether to give the worker a pass—is such a treat. I always love spending time reading about Twiggy and Tempeste and hearing their witty takes on household events. Thanks for sharing such a fun read, John!

Very big of them to give the worker a pass on their barking him to St-Louis. I can only imagine the cacophony if they decided to add their voices to the mix!
Happy renovating…

Great dialogue and photo story, John. I suspect the carpenter has faced impatient four-legged children before. He knows what happens if he approaches the fence. 😄

It is kind of funny the way he ran out, and these two chased him along the fence. We gave him a rest by taking the precocious ones to the backyard. 😄

Tempeste is very lucky to have such a wise sister like Twiggy to explain it all. Lucy did that for her as I recall. 🙂

Yes. Twiggy is passing on what Lucy taught her. Or at least the idea of helping Tempeste navigate the world.

Good luck with the reno. And the girls. (Sending them belly rubs AND ear scratches. Sounds like they’re stressed and could use both. Sending you a little cheer as well, which I bet you could also use. 🥃 )

Oh-oh… Lots of excitement for the girls, but not the good kind. However, they seem to be brave about it. Although, from the human perspective, I get that a little cowering might be easier than the St. Louis style of barking. Good luck, John! Big hugs.

“The gates are to protect the worker from us.” — yes he does not want to get by a puma or panther. He can’t do his job without his leg. Good thinking Twiggy.
