“So there I was trying to write down the directions to her house.”
“Yeah, and what was the problem?”
“Well. For one thing, she was talking so fast I couldn’t write fast enough.”
“Why didn’t you ask her to slow down?”
“You’re kidding, right? Ask the homecoming queen to slow don’t when she is giving me directions to her house? You nuts?”
“Just saying is all. Then what?”
“I have this iPhone crooked in one ear and am writing on the hood of my car and the elements are conspiring against me.”
“What ya mean?”
“The water is pouring down and the ink is running. Then the air comes along and blows the paper out of my hands right on to the earth outside.”
“Outside? What ya mean outside?”
“Outside the car wash.”
“You were sitting on the hood of your car while it was going through the car wash taking directions over the phone?”
“Yeah, I was.”
“Why?”
“I told you it was the homecoming queen giving me directions to her house. I didn’t want to lose the call. What would you do?”
“Uh. Take the call on the chair in the waiting room.”
“See you always know what to do. I hate your butt.”
“It is a difficult one all right.”
