Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

TGIF

Friday is here once again and with it the promise to lay those burdens down for a bit of rest. This week was marked with a whole bunch of nothing. All I managed to accomplish was seven blog posts and staying ahead of the e-mail and Twitter feeds. I did not pen (er type)  a word on any WIP nor did I edit a single line. This has to be the first time in over four years that I have not added a thing to a piece of work.

I have been involved in another project doing  organized commerce kind of work so I know I have an excuse. I feel like I have ignored one of my kids or something. I have been waiting around for the editor to return Our Justice so I can begin formatting it for publication, so I think I have given myself an excuse for avoiding my other projects. I gotta stop that behavior now. *Slap* “Thanks, I needed that.”

Today’s JohnKu talks about excuses. I hope you enjoy it.

Excuses by John W. Howell © 2016

Tough project ahead,

Hard to begin the first step. . .

Need excuses fast.

I love the meme, the theme, the whole damn thing. Sorry dude, I’m feeling shark week coming on, and my Quint comes out to play when shark week gets here. 🙂

LOL! I need a slap too, John. Apart from the day job, my writing week was a whole lot of nothing too. I wish I could follow your meme’s suggestion, but this weekend I must make up for my slacking off. Happy Friday!

Love the johnku and the post. I’ve been coming up with all kinds of excuses for not writing, not blogging, and barely popping into WP Reader or Twitter. But I’m running out of excuses … Maybe that’s not such a bad thing 😉 Have a great weekend, John. After four years of steady work, I think you can have a week of a whole bunch of nothing and still enjoy the weekend 🙂 MWAH!

It’s like waiting for a storm to break isn’t it? A ‘nice’ storm, but one that’ll keep you busy and out of (too much) mischief… 😉

Writers are the BEST at procrastinating, John! If it’s any comfort, I don’t even have seven blog posts this week to show for my “laziness”!!

Good one, John! Sometimes you just need to stick with an excuse! It’s called justification or rationalization, and it works! Have a great weekend. 💛 Elizabeth

I give up. Sometimes there are no excuses. But, it’s okay to give yourself a break now and then so don’t beat yourself up too much. 🙂
