Friday John Ku – AKA – TGIF

Funny Friday

Happy Friday the thirteenth. Well, here we are, almost finished with the first full week in a while. Seemed like a long one for sure. I hope you can make it the last eight hours or so. The weekend is right around the corner. One of my friends refers to Friday as Saturday Eve. I suppose that is a good way to look at it.

This week had its events. I received My GRL back from the editor with the final proof. I will be spending a little while doing the formats and then reporting to the cover artist the number of pages, the price, and providing the back cover endorsement. My publisher wants me to remind them when I’m going to launch the new edition of My GRL. I still plan on March 1st. I guess I will send them a note when I get closer.

I will be pricing My GRL at $2.99 for Kindle and $14.95 for the paper edition. That will be $3.00 off the current price off the Kindle and $2.00 off the paper.

I also kicked off a price discount for Our Justice. Today EReader News Today is featuring Our Justice at $0.99. You can go there or to Amazon.  Today’s John Ku talks about writing and promotion. I hope you like it.

Scribble long hours,

Craft the best book you can do. . .

Sell it like tooth paste.

  1. Sounds like a big week. Definitely deserve a relaxing weekend. That is one happy sheep. Jealous of the thing.

    1. Me too! Thanks, Charles. 🙂 Hope the weekend is good for you.

      1. Me too. Never any way to tell. 😁

      2. Well, there’s always reading the coffee grounds, tea leaves, or spin the coke bottle. (as good as any)

      3. Does Coke still come in bottles?

  2. Toothpaste… (Shakes head).
You’ve really been busy, John. But now you can see all the effort coming together.
I had forgotten this was Friday the 13th. Lucky 13. Woot! Thirteen is a power number to me. So TGIF-13. Mega hugs.

    1. Go Thirteen Teagan. Super day to you with big hug too! 😀

  3. Gwen Plano · ·

OMG – toothpaste?? Well, I guess a good book offers something to chew on…. 🙂

    1. Ha ha ha So true on the chew on.. The toothpaste reference is to imply no matter how good the book, you need to market it like it was a product. Thanks, Gwen.

  4. LOL! Love the John Ku! I hope your weekend provides you with some relaxation, you’ve been busy. What a great meme, John!

    1. Ha ha ha. Thanks, Jill. The meme hit me as soon as I saw it.

  5. Love the leaping lamb, John. Congratulations on completing your work. 🙂 — Suzanne

    1. Thank you, Suzanne. 🙂

  6. Never thought of toothpaste. “My GRL whitens your teeth as you read it.”

    1. What came to mind in the price. At $0.99 toothpaste and books are about the same. I like your line though. I wonder if the FTC would mind me using it? 😀

      1. You need one of those fast talking disclaimers at the end.

      2. Ha haha. The last one would be, “this book makes no claim to prevent gingivitis.”

  7. I’m excited about your promo and know your the book will do well. I want to get My GRL in paperback once it’s out there. Greg has lots of friends who read at work and they exchange books regularly. He still buys books for his eReader, but having a tangible copy of the first book in the series to share might be a good thing. You’ve been such an inspiration for me.Thank you!

    1. You are doing a great job, Susan. Thanks for the comment and stopping by. 🙂

  8. Well – toothpaste gets the day off with a ‘zing’ and it’s an essential (and affordable) item! |Good analogy I say! 😉

    1. At $0.99 the book is about the same prices as a small tube. Thanks, Jan

  9. Very nice, John, give us a word we can get our teeth into? LOL!!! Good luck with the new edition of MY GRL!!

    1. Thank you, John. I love the teeth reference you clever hoser, you.:-D

      1. Yes, you gave us a pasting on that one, Mr Hoser!

      2. Awwwwww. *ba dump bump cymbal crash*

  10. Ha! Love that John Ku. Made me laugh 😀
I also think of Friday as Saturday Eve and the gateway to the weekend.
Best of luck with the new edition of MY GRL. If you’re going to promo it, my blog will be open for you 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for the promo offer Mae Clair. We’ll see how much I’m going to do. 🙂

  11. Friday the 13th AND an ice storm on its way — sounds like a jolly way to spend a weekend, right?? Love the happy sheep and your JohynKu. Didn’t see that toothpaste line coming, though I imagine we writers are called to be peddlers when our work becomes available. Best wishes on much success with it!

    1. I know right? Well you need to be careful out there. Yes, toothpaste and books. No different in the need for exposure. 🙂

  12. I love that picture. Makes me smile.
    Have a great weekend,

  13. A toast for My Girl’s long journey approaching the light in the tunnel. Cheers to your effort! Saturday Eve for Friday is a good one. Then again, when one is retired, it is easy to forget the date and the day of the week. 😉 Thanks for the propulsion into the weekend.

    1. Ha ha ha. Thank you, Frank. I’m honored you could visit. I know how pressed you are for time. Thanks. Have a great weekend.

  14. Good luck with the promo, John! Friday 13th has always been lucky for me – the day my youngest son was born.

    1. Thanks, Teri. That is a good reason to have a lucky 13th

  15. You’ve earned that weekend margarita, John. Best of luck with the book promotion and sales!

    1. Thanks, Phillip. Have a good one yourself.

  16. I like, “Sell it like toothpaste.” What a phenomenal picture. 😀 😛 😀

    1. Ha ha ha. Thanks, Tess.

  17. This is your year, John.
    Make the most of it.

    1. You think? Thanks, Hook I will.

  18. Improvise until
    An accidental novel
    Can be sold online

    1. Ha ha ha. This reminds me of someone. Hmmm?

  19. Like the toothpaste part. I’m SO glad it’s the weekend, hope it lasts for a while. Rough week.

    1. Yes. I hope so too!

  20. I love SaturdayEve! It turns a long day at the end of a long week into one of anticipation. You had better rest up for the busy week you have ahead. It sounds like a good time to get your toes in the sand and a margarita in your hand (or a double dirty vodka martini.). Have a great one, John.

    1. OOOOo. I dring gin but I think you are on to something. 🙂

      1. Haha! Gin works, too!

    1. Thank you , Traci.
