Friday JohnKu – AKA TGIF

Lovely Friday. Eight hours until the weekend. (or at least weekend eve) How was your week? Mine was pretty tame. I’m still hitting 1000 words a day which is a good thing. Also, I have a beta read which needs daily attention if I’m going to make the deadline.

My editor has begun work on the next book, so that is a good thing. Still shooting for September.

I tweaked my Amazon Marketing Service ad with a different blurb. I only want to change one thing at a time.  I kept the keywords constant, so we’ll see how it goes.

This week’s JohnKu talks about what is important to an author. I hope you have a wonderful week.

Others insist book sales rule . . .

Only the heart knows.

  1. Wise words, John. Have a great weekend. The cat on the right above looks like it was just given a sudsy bath and hated it. I’m glad I’m not the owner. Its face says, “Revenge”. 😀 — Suzanne

    1. Ha ha ha Thanks, Suzanne. 😀

A matter of the heart – so true. And like Suzanne, I’m glad I’m not the owner of the kitten on the right. 🙂

    1. Ha haha. The poor thing needs an owner like you. 😀

  3. I can so relate to that second picture. Might be me for most of the weekend this time.

  4. That poor kitty on the right sure is a MONDAY cat!!

    1. Ha ha ha. It speaks for all of us. Thanks, GP. 😀

  5. I’m with Charles…so ready for the weekend. Glad your week was good, John.

    1. Thanks, Jill. 🙂

  6. Hectic week, can’t believe how busy! Still at college 9pm yesterday and just waiting for a lift to Chester for a concert, hoping it only takes a four hour drive.
Hope you have a great weekend.

    1. My goodness. Good thing you are young.

  7. Have a great weekend, John – I’m feeling ‘fluffy’ too! 😀

    1. You as well, Jan. 🙂

  8. The heart wants what the hearts wants, John… Whatever that means.

    1. Ha ha ha. Whatever that means. 😀 Thanks, Hook.

  9. Congrats, John, it looks like your productivity levels are great!

    1. Seems at the right level.

  10. Let us know how those Amazon tweaks go. I think a lot of people would be interested in that.

  11. GOOD for you, John … and inspiring for me! That poor kitty on the right is a mess. He looks mad enough to scratch somebody’s eyes out! Love the JohnKu, and it’s so true. Probably most of us hope for a blend of the two options!

    1. A blend would be a good thing. Thank, Debbie.

  12. Love the meme, and that’s a great JohnKu.
    Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

    1. You as well, Mae. 🙂

  13. Love the cat pics – a very apt portrayal. Happy Friday, John!

    1. You as well, Teri.

  14. Apt JohnKu. It sounds like you are getting everything done that you need to. You reminded me that I need a new blurb for one of my books.

    1. Thanks, Guy. Have a great weekend

  15. Glad you had a great week John! Very productive. It’s nice when you are on a constant path forward. Slow and steady. That picture is hilarious!!! So true! Have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks, Ipuna. Happy weekend to you.

  16. A very true Johnku. TGIF, happy Cinco de Mayo, and mega hugs!

    1. Happy Cinco deMayo, Teagan. Big hug back.

  17. Oh, the Monday cat is so me!!!! Love the photos and the johnku. It’s perfect!

    1. Thanks, Marie. 😀

  18. Those darned beta reads take time. They sure help though.

    1. Thank you, Audrey

  19. Hi John – I am just beginning the first heavy go through of my book, based on critiquers comments, and sending it out to my beta readers a chapter at a time so they don’t get overwhelmed. I feel your angst. For me, it’s all about the writing. I like to surprise, awe and thrill my critique groups – not really! I’m happy if they enjoyed it. Have a great weekend and much luck with this part of the process.

    1. Thanks, Noelle. Best wishes.

  20. ROFL!! That image is hilarious. Hope your week-end was awesome.

    1. Thank you, Deborah.

  21. Give me some quiet
    With no distractions at all
    And I’ll write all day
