Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

Friday

It is Friday once again and eight hours till the weekend. I was very pleased to get the first copy of the cover for Circumstances of Childhood. It looks interesting and with a few minor tweaks might just be the one. This is the fourth cover by this artist, and she has been able to come up with a design each time that has worked.

Once we get to the final, I’ll post it. It will be of interest what you think. As I have said this is a new type of book for me, and I have even had to struggle on the genre. I think the elements of the story put it into the realm of spirituality. There are thriller and paranormal aspects as well. I think I’m going to go for General Fiction>Spirituality>Thriller>Mystery.

Today’s JohnKu talks about genre and how to decide. I hope you have a great weekend.

The book is finished,

Now, I need to describe it. . .

How’s “You can read it.”

      1. Life is boring without taking chances. I vote for calling it a spirituality thriller and starting a trend.

  10. Blended genre books are so hard to tag. Marketing them is even more difficult. I wish you luck.

    1. Thank you, Staci. I’ll just have to go for it. This is a problem when you write a story that you want to write and don’t keep an eye on where it fits. 😀

  14. Eager to see the cover and hear more about this one, John. What urged you to switch genres? Something tells me Dallas would NOT like this rocker-chic meme!!

    1. I just wrote the story and didn’t concern myself with genre. I didn’t think Dallas would like it. Too low class.

  21. This JohnKu made me smile. I often struggle with how to categorize my books as many of them cross genres. Circumstances of Childhood sounds intriguing and the type of novel that attracts me. I look forward to the cover reveal.
