Friday – JohnKu – TGIF

TGIF

It is Friday already. My, what a rushed week. At least it seems that way to me. I finished the formatting on Circumstances of Childhood. The next project was to get a cover that would work. We are finally close to that cover, and I hope to give you a look next week sometime. After that, it is a matter of putting the book up on CreateSpace and Kindle.

Before hitting publish, I need to decide on the announcement plans. I know I want to do a tour. I also want to do a few ads but need to figure out when and where. I guess I will have this sorted out by next week. I think the October 1st date will be a go.

I will be sending out my call for volunteers shortly. In the meantime, today’s JohnKu talks about how it takes a village to launch a book. I hope you have a super weekend.

  1. Great JohnKu! I’ll be ready for the call to service, John. That meme…quite direct! 🙂 Happy Friday!

    1. Yes it is. Thanks, Jill

  2. At the very least, it isn’t much fun promoting alone. Have a relaxing weekend.

    1. That is so true. 🙂 I wish a relaxing weekend to you as well. 🙂

      1. Thanks. *looks at calendar* Uh, can I get a rain check on that? 😀

  3. I can understand how that would be true, John. I love the advice at the top especially after the news alerts we’ve had this week. Sometimes I wish I was a drinker. 😀 — Suzanne

    1. Maybe you can start. 😀 Thanks, Suzanne.

Loved your JohnKu, and I look forward to joining the launch party. Drinks or not – it will be fun! Have a great weekend and celebrate this latest achievement! YAY! 🙂

    1. Thank you, Gwen. Beautiful Friday wish to you.

  5. Count me in for the launch party, John! Happy Friday to you!

    1. Thanks, John. Can you get me 1000 bottles of Molson?

  6. You are a whirlwind of productivity, John.
I envy you; I can barely get up these days, never mind write.
The only thing (besides my family) I get animated about is the short script I’ve written for a video version of the blog. But I can’t seem to get that off the ground.
    Have a good weekend, buddy.

    1. I look at it this way. I write as an end to itself. Then all of a sudden I have a book done. It is a mind game I play with my self.

  7. I hope to be able to help spread the word, John. I always appreciate the details you share about the process.

    1. Thanks, Dan. 😀

I can help. I have a book coming out late October. Maybe you could post something for me too! 😉 Win-win.

    1. Of course, I would post a launch message for your book. 😀

  9. Launching a book and drinking are both best enjoyed in good company… Happy Friday, John.

    1. Thanks, Phillip. Happy Friday to you as well.

  10. Great JohnKu, and so true. It’s great that we have help within the author community.
I’ll be answering your call for volunteers.
As an FYI, I’ve also found Facebook (targeted) Ads to be beneficial.I run one with every book launch I do.

    1. Excellent advice, Mae. Never have done one. Worth a try. 😀

      1. Use the Power Editor for the best results (You’ll find it under the Ad Manager). I’m not an expert, but I’ve had some good results, especially when I run ads for .99c sales. You have my email if you have questions!

  11. Without help it is futile. I look forward to seeing the front cover John. Congratulations on getting the formatting done.

    1. Thanks, Guy. Happy weekend.

  12. So very true, John! Wonderful to hear you’re near publication. Happy to spread the word any way I can. Cheers! 🙂

    1. Thank you, Natalie.
