Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

I’m glad to see Friday come around. We had a cold and rainy week. I know the rain is needed but I certainly missed the sun this week. We are expecting another cold front this weekend so I think the cycle one day sun, six days cloudy will continue. For an area that has over 325 days of sunshine a year, this is unusual.

One nice thing this week. Gwen and I decided (Well, we think we have decided) on the cover for our collaboration, The Contract.  Here is a peek at the design as it stood last week. We asked for a few little adjustments so this is not the final but will give you an idea. We hope you like it.

I have been working in business for over forty years and now have the time to work in special areas of interest. My passion has always been to create compelling stories of fiction. I have authored six novels and am working on my Seventh. The first novel is still in manuscript form and being utilized as a door stop in the laundry room. The second is a contemporary fiction novel of 89,000 words and is complete and I am currently seeking a publisher. I also write poetry but have not had the guts to share any with anyone. The one time I read a piece to a person their only comment was, “it doesn’t rhyme.” I will continue to write and hopefully my blog, Fiction Favorites at www.johnwhowell.com will provide some entertainment and an interesting thought or two. I live in the Austin area with my wife Molly and an assortment of loving pets.

  11. An eye-catching cover, John and Gwen; I know it will be an interesting read. Good that you two found the collaboration process so fulfilling; sometimes that can be a challenge.

  13. I like it. The beach in deep sunset with the shadows of the couple and helicopter….nice:) The Johnku was very fitting and I’m glad you guys worked together for this book!

  17. Excellent cover, John. I like the gold and amber tones with the darker shades on the couple and the helicopter. Of course, I am highly curious about the book and look forward to reading it.
