“Hey, Lucy. You look down. What’s going on?”
“Aw, Boss. We’ve been stuck on the lower level for years. It is getting tiring.”
“It’s been a week and five days. It just seems like years.”
“I’m sure sick of Candy Crush, Pops.”
“You guys want to go and check the progress?”
“Whoa, Pops. Now you’re talking.”
“Okay follow me. We’ll have to take the elevator.”
“My goodness. Look at this. Where’s the food bowl?
“It is still downstairs, Lucy. What do you think, Bailey?
“Let’s just say I’ve seen bigger messes but can’t remember where.”
“Come on you two. This is the new floor. It was a bigger mess before the baseboards were put back and painted.”
“Yes, Pops. We expected everything to look like it did before.”
“Yeah, I can see that. Well, it is going to be a while. The floors need washing and furniture moved back.”
“What is all that, Boss?”
“A shop vac, tools and some trash.”
“Geeze, Pops. Looks like this stuff will be here forever.”
“Well, it might be the weekend. But certainly not forever.”
“Hey, Baily. The day is beautiful. Let’s go out.”
“Uh. You should see the stairs, Lucy.”
“Oh yeah. What’s the problem?
“Come see for yourself.”
“Check it out.”
“OMG. You know what that rough surface can do to your mani-pedi?”
“Ladies. We will take the elevator down. No mani-pedi needs to be disturbed.”
“Boss you are such a Mensch.”
yeah, what’s going on?? am with them. Time to goooooo ouuuuutttttt haha

Lift (elevator) inside the house – such luxury 🙂

It’s for Lucy and her arthritic hips and me with my bad knees….yeah it is a luxury. When we built the house we decided to equip it so that stairs would not be an issue to any of us. So far so good. Thanks, Keith.

Growing older’s a pain, isn’t it? We’re spread over three floors plus the basement, and the terrain around here is very hilly. I’m just hoping that our joints (and the dogs’ – Trevor will be 12 next month) will hold on for a good while yet.

He’s becoming a little arthritic, but still has probably five or six years left. As for this writer – I have a team of highly trained ologists keeping me on an even keel.

Beats me. I can only manage four, and one of those is only an ologist in French (UK chiropodist, US podiatrist)

All the best, John! Quick note: There’s a bit of confusion with AUTHORSdb re. my password – should all be worked out soon. I’ve been a member for years, yet not too active for a while… ♥

The floors and baseboards look magnificent. Soon, all the frustrations will be something of the past, and pups will roam freely Maybe we could have an internet toast? 😀

Make mine sour dough. Oh, that’s not what you meant. Yes a toast. Last night we were surprised with the news that the stairs won’t be done for another week. The wrong parts came in and so a reorder is needed. (of course.) Thanks, Gwen.

Gosh John, around here, the cats have to sign off on before any renovation begins. Heck, I need to get their approval to start the Roomba.

Wow, look at the progress! Sure, I know it *feels* like forever to you and the girls, but I know you’re reminding yourselves that Rome wasn’t built in a day. Dallas says he wishes he had an elevator so his achy hips wouldn’t have to climb three levels of stairs (and his mama says he’s too … ahem, heavy … to carry!!)
