Thursday – A Little Personal – Lucy and Bailey in Exile.

“Hey, Lucy. You look down. What’s going on?”

“Aw, Boss. We’ve been stuck on the lower level for years. It is getting tiring.”

“It’s been a week and five days. It just seems like years.”

Bailey

“I’m sure sick of Candy Crush, Pops.”

“You guys want to go and check the progress?”

Lucy and Bailey

“Whoa, Pops. Now you’re talking.”

“Okay follow me. We’ll have to take the elevator.”

“My goodness. Look at this. Where’s the food bowl?

“It is still downstairs, Lucy. What do you think, Bailey?

“Let’s just say I’ve seen bigger messes but can’t remember where.”

“Come on you two. This is the new floor. It was a bigger mess before the baseboards were put back and painted.”

“Yes, Pops. We expected everything to look like it did before.”

“Yeah, I can see that. Well, it is going to be a while. The floors need washing and furniture moved back.”

“What is all that, Boss?”

“A shop vac, tools and some trash.”

“Geeze, Pops. Looks like this stuff will be here forever.”

“Well, it might be the weekend. But certainly not forever.”

“Hey, Baily. The day is beautiful. Let’s go out.”

“Uh. You should see the stairs, Lucy.”

Lucy and Bailey

“Oh yeah. What’s the problem?

“Come see for yourself.”

“Check it out.”

“OMG. You know what that rough surface can do to your mani-pedi?”

“Ladies. We will take the elevator down. No mani-pedi needs to be disturbed.”

“Boss you are such a Mensch.”

Lift (elevator) inside the house – such luxury 🙂

It’s for Lucy and her arthritic hips and me with my bad knees….yeah it is a luxury. When we built the house we decided to equip it so that stairs would not be an issue to any of us. So far so good. Thanks, Keith.

Growing older’s a pain, isn’t it? We’re spread over three floors plus the basement, and the terrain around here is very hilly. I’m just hoping that our joints (and the dogs’ – Trevor will be 12 next month) will hold on for a good while yet.

He’s becoming a little arthritic, but still has probably five or six years left. As for this writer – I have a team of highly trained ologists keeping me on an even keel.

Wow, look at the progress! Sure, I know it *feels* like forever to you and the girls, but I know you’re reminding yourselves that Rome wasn’t built in a day. Dallas says he wishes he had an elevator so his achy hips wouldn’t have to climb three levels of stairs (and his mama says he’s too … ahem, heavy … to carry!!)
