Thursday – A Little Personal – Lucy and Twiggy in a Fog

It was very foggy yesterday, and Lucy and Twiggy still wanted their walk.

Lucy and Twiggy

“Twiggy I think we should cut the walk short. It is way too foggy.”

“Lucy. Are you flying a plane? We are walking for heaven’s sake. Besides, look at the gulls up ahead.”

“Okay, but keep your eye out for cars coming out of the fog.”

“Sounds like a little Carl Sanders there. Lucy.”

“Thank you for the compliment, but that was no poem.”

“Oh man. Look at them. Mom cut me loose.”

“Mom, please don’t let her get loose. She’ll end up in Arkansas.”

“Don’t worry sweetheart. I have her.”

“Look at the Gulf, Twiggy. Aren’t you glad you are not in a boat?”

“It sure looks thick, Lucy. Yes, I’m glad.”

“I thought you were going after the gulls.”

“They all flew away. Besides this leash is a bit of a handicap.”

“How about it, Mom. Five minutes? I promise to come back.”

“Don’t do it, Mom.”

“Some pal you are, Lucy.”

“Oh please, Twiggy. You have no sense of direction. You would get lost and end up in a shelter.”

“Okay, I give. I’m going to stalk that blackbird.”

“You go, girl.”

“Nuts. It flew away again.”

“Maybe next time, Twiggy.”

“Hold on Twiggy. This isn’t our walkway.”

“It looks like ours.”

“Hey, you two. Can’t you read the sign?”

“Twiggy I think Mom is making a joke. She knows we can’t read.”

“Speak for yourself, Lucy.”

“Okay, what does the sign say?”

“Free biscuits to all French Bulldogs. What else would it say?”

Poor Twiggy – didn’t have the foggiest where she was going.

I’m so glad my dogs aren’t the only ones that carry on a conversation while perambulating…😁

Lucy sure has patience, doesn’t she? We have your fog this morning. It’s easier to navigate on the beach than on the roads.

I agree. The roads are hazardous to our health. Thanks, Jill

You’re not kidding…especially when you must commute through the “hood” to get to your job. I thank God each day I arrive safely.

What a great walk. Twiggy is always pulling ahead while Lucy takes her time. There’s nothing quite like a walk along the water’s edge, even if it can only be enjoyed vicariously. 🙂

Definitely! And there is an eerie calmness, usually. Not unpleasant.

Yanno what? I want Twiggy to be the navigational guide for my GPS. She’s got a tasty sense of direction.

Every day should be free biscuit day.

But hey, how about free biscuits for all bloggers? Why do dogs get all the good stuff? It’s not fair!

I had the pleasure of driving in that thick fog all the way from Kerrville to New Braunfels on Tuesday. I wish I’d had those two to help me navigate. (Who am I kidding? I’d much rather have been with them on the beach!)

Great photos of the girls, John and I love the captionsI love being in the fog, as long as I’m not in danger of being hit with an oncoming car. But, for the record, I think keeping Twiggy on a tether is probably a good idea.
