When we all have been quarantined as long as we have the subject material for a Views feature starts to get a little thin. This week I noticed several swings and playthings hanging in people’s yards. These things spoke to me of more staying at home as opposed to going to parks. You are welcome to come along or stay right here. If you decide to pass. on the walk, help yourself to a margarita and keep the social distance.
Here is a whole jungle gym kind of set up. Hard to see, but there are rings and pull-up bars. Has a “Go outside and play” vibe.
Although not hanging here is a soccer net and real-live players.

A very common swing. In a sweet cool spot.
Nothing is hanging on the crape myrtles. I just thought they looked beautiful in the Saharan Dust filled day.
The look of a classic swing is in front of a cottage.
Another swing. Hard to see, but there is one on the porch too.
Yup. Swing.
I had to laugh at the Uncle Sam hanging from a pole. An early Fourth of July item.
Now we are talking—a hammock under the trees.
A swing, kiddie car, and lots of washed-out sidewalk chalk dust. Yup playtime place.
Well, that’s it. I hope you had a nice walk. You have earned your margarita. I’m paring those with chips and mango salsa. Can you say “Über home?”

Yup. Every Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. 7:15-7:30 (8 by the time I close up shop)

Lovely neighborhood, John. When I walked outside this morning, there was a box turtle at the bottom step. I’m always surprised to see him. He’ll be “hanging” around for a bit. 🙂

Yes you can have extra salt, GP. I actually took these photos on Friday since the Saharan dust pretty much kept me inside yesterday. Looks like today will be better. 😁

We are all concerned. Last weekend a group of 300 teens all got together fro a beer pong party. The fallout is going to be severe. Tell the folks to wear masks and stay home as much as they can.

Every piece of equipment shown here would have yellow “Do Not Touch” tape in our neighbourhood. So refreshing to see these in their natural state. Thanks for the tour, John.

Yesterday I passed a nearby house and noticed a ladder propped against a tree. The people were hanging an old-fashioned swing from a limb. Don’t see too many of those these days, but its what I always had as a kid.

Not a lot of front yard stuff here. Swings tend to be in the back. Hammock sounds like a good idea though.

A lot of the houses here don’t have much of a backyard. People have to make do with the front.

I spent a good number of hours reading in my grandparents’ porch swing during the summers. I still like a porch swing. When they came up with those “gliders” that were so popular for a while, it was a step back for civilization.

the only hanging items we have are the bird feeders and the wind chimes. We do have a hammock, but we rarely put it up.

I loved these images, John. My grandson has his own swing set and a trampoline out in back. They’ll lay dormant and quiet for now as our Winter begins. It’s -4 here this morning. Can Uber deliver a large dose of your summer warmth? Oh, and jug of Margarita with a side order of headache medication ’cause I like to be preapred.😊

Those are great shots of the neighborhood, John. The quarantine may be forcing us to rediscover the familiar. Your opening lines reminded me of one of my favorite poems, ‘The Red Wheelbarrow’ by William Carlos Williams.

Haha! Uncle Sam makes for a funny pic. With the mental extremism that seems to have gotten hold of humans, with someone or the other getting hurt with anything or everything, some could interpret this as being disrespectful of Uncle Sam.

There is one rental cabin in the state park we stayed at. It has a huge big hammock back in the shade. Looks like a great place to read a book.
