“I thought I saw the ball out there, Lucy. You see it?”
“It’s not here, Little one.”
“You sure? I could have sworn it was there somewhere.”
“Still don’t see it.”
“What’s that green thing by your butt?”
“OMG. It wasn’t there a few minutes ago.”
“Well, it’s there now. Mmmm, this sun feels good.”
“Yeah, take a break. You have been working too hard today.”
I’ll tell ya. After that cold snap, this feels so nice.”
“This is my kind of living, Little Potato.”
“Of course there is that confounded squirrel, Lucy. Uh, Lucy?”
“I can’t hear you, Little One. I’m on the hunt.”
“What is it?”
“Not sure. It growled like a grizzly but smells like a possum.”
“Well, that was sure anti-climatic.”
“Not every day brings the big game, Little one.”
“How about I wait out here until it comes back. If it ever does.”
“Yeah, you do that. Not sure, but I think I heard a kibble bag rustle. Let me know if you hear something.”
“You always pull that kibble thingy. All right, I’m coming with you.”
Anything for a bit of kibble! lols. Thanks for the Thursday fun, John π

It *is* grizzly migration season in those parts, isnβt it, John? The girls are right to opt for the kibble. A lot easier to subdue….π

Yes. You should have been here last night when Twiggy thought the TV reflection on the window was an alien. I finally had to take her outside to show her there was nothing there. π

They do look comfortable out there. Maybe they found a possum-bear.

Yes, I’m sure that’s it. Could be the neighbor’s cat too, but I like the idea of a possum-bear.

“It growled like a grizzly…” that must be what they think every time they hear/smell something. Good thing you have that kibble bag sound MP3 on your phone, John.

Hahaha. Never thought of that. Would be a good idea. Thanks, Dan

What? Twiggy gave in to treats over catching big game?

You see, Frank. Once you catch game you have to do something with it. It is all in the chase and brag. π

So true. Lucky for us neither the possums nor raccoons want to climb the fence. The squirrel is another story. Thanks, Joan.

You must have some vicious opossums in TX if they sounds like grizzlies.

The sun must be so nice without the life-sucking heat you get in the summer. Can’t say I blame them for wanting to get their vitamin D.
Lucy is a smart one for using the kibble trick to get out of “hunting” π

It’s always good if mom and dad learn to outsmart their pups, especially with something like a Kibble. It’s so much easier than calling/yelling. Loved the story, John, and the dialogue. All smiles! π

Yes, yelling for dogs is not very productive for sure. I mention, treat, yogurt, biscuit, pumpkin, or dinner and they are right there. Thanks, Gwen

My Husky can hear the pantry cabinet open and the box of dog snacks being moved from way down in the back garden, with all of the windows and doors closed. Great photos and dialogue. It would be fascinating to know what they are really thinking. Gotta love the puppies!!

The deer pound the ground with a hoof. Lucy wants to play, Twiggy wants to bark them to the next county. All in all a fun time had by all.
