“Lucy you are it. Come chase me.”
“Hold on, Little One. I think I hear the roar of a cheese package.”
“I don’t hear it.”
“Maybe I’m having auditory hallucinations. Okay, start running.”
Here we are on Friday again. I guess we all are glad the weekend is here. I have to join Twiggy in her celebrations since every day is pretty much like the other. (being retired and all.)
Not much excitement around here. I have noticed on the news there is a little more action on the bar scene due to the state authorizing bars to open. The city of Austin is continuing the mandatory mask regulations, which I think is good. Unfortunately, the State is not so inclined, and the State Attorney General has issued a cease and desist order. I think the mayor of Austin will ignore it, so there will be some laughable legal maneuvers ahead. The governor and mayor do not see eye to eye on many matters.
We will probably see a percentage increase in Covid cases like other states who have opened up. The fact that 9% of Texans are fully vaccinated compared to 12% of the US population does not add comfort to a potential increase in cases. The next three weeks will tell the tale.
One more thing. Eternal Road – The final stop US Kindle edition will be on sale starting Sunday, March 21st at 3:00 AM Eastern time until Wednesday, March 24 at midnight. There are 26 lovely reviews for a 4.8 rating. If you have been waiting for the right price. This will be the time.
Today’s JohnKu looks forward to spring. I hope you have a lovely weekend.

The snow disappears,
Nourishing the ground below . . .
To herald the blooms.
Let the politicians have their little squabbles, John – just keep yourselves safe.

I sometimes think we’ve got tooooo many governors and mayors :)) but still, our life is kinda chaos π
No excitement on this end either. Problems with Astra Zeneca vaccine (people died after taking it, something to do with “blood clots”). Lots of lockdowns around in the EU (not in Sweden tho, but I’m spending most of my time at home anyway).
My mother-in-law passed away last Friday.
and the snow is gone… true π

I’m sorry about your mother-in-law, Ray. I hope you and your husband can remember the good times when eventually the sad times fade. Good to spend time at home. We don’t have the Astra Zeneca vaccine. It has not been approved by our FDA. Stay well and I just said a prayer for you all. π·

I’m looking forward to spring, too. Though I could have done without DST. Have a great weekend, John.

Yeah what is up with DST anyway? I sure love to stumble around in the dark all morning. (Well it seems that way) Have a great weekend too, Staci.

‘The roar of a cheese package’!!! OMG. I’m laughing myself silly here (doesn’t take much!). LOLs.
Great Haiku, Johh. We’re seeing case rises here now the schools have opened up. It’s amazing how quickly the numbers are going back up.
Love the Haiku. Good luck with the promo, and have a great weekend π

I knew your mayor and state attorney general aren’t on the same page – but i haven’t heard anything else in the past week. Oh boy – nothing like politicizing public health. Cheers to the roar of the cheese package! Good line … Enjoy your weekend.

Hang on to what you consider safe, John. Yours is the only opinion that matters where your health is concerned.

I have taken to running the garbage disposal when getting out some cheese. I know this too will be a trigger sooner or later.

I swear it must be a roar to them. No matter how quietly we try to open that sucker, you can bet within seconds… well, longer now that he’s old… Zeke will arrive with an expectant look.
As for Austin vs rest of Texas – amusing how a city can go against the state. The important thing is YOU stay safe!
Excellent JohnKu this morn! And a happy day to you, my friend!

The roar of a cheese package. I swear, it must be a special power. My two can detect when a package of cheese is sliced open from the other end of the house. Works better than any ‘come’ command…. π
Hoping that Texas doesn’t explode with new cases, John. Seems a bit of a reckless way to approach things. Governor here in FL just dropped vaccine age to 50 for everyone, so guess I will be getting my shot sooner rather than later. Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel…. Have a great weekend.

The age dropped here as well and there are still people in the first two groups who have not gotten an appointment let alone a shot. These are people who want to be vaccinated. Have a great weekend as well Lori.

Lovely JohnKu. While Tallahassee didn’t have any snow to disappear, we have plenty of blooms now. Glad you’re keeping yourself safe, although I guess that means you have to avoid all those who don’t care. I got my vaccination today so Greg feels that in a couple of weeks it’ll be safe enough for him to go to the dentist … lol. Even with our vaccinations, we’re still following every precaution. I won’t feel it’s safe until we have 0 new cases in Florida … but, like you said, we’ll probably see an increase in a couple of weeks. Even though Florida’s governor lowered the age restrictions, there are still too many people who are eligible but haven’t gotten vaccinated.
Enjoy your weekend!

I have a dentist appointment in June. My last shot is in April so I think I will go ahead with it. It is the third one set since March of 2020. Good that you are vaccinated.

Why should Texas be any different than everywhere else. People in government can rarely agree on anything? Except for those taxesβeverybody needs to pay those taxes for our efficient government. π€£

I don’t know Austin’s Mayor, but I know enough about Governor Abbott to know that I fully support anyone who disagrees with him. I’m looking to see a spike in both Texas and Mississippi, as Florida has already seen. Keep safe, my friend, and have a decent weekend! Someday this will all be a bad memory … perhaps even in our lifetime!
