Thursday – A Little Personal – Lucy Visits the Dentist

“Hey Lucy. Why are you on the couch?”

“I was at the dentist yesterday and am still recovering.”

“Well I better keep watch for you then. I think the UPS person is due.”

“Don’t worry Little One. I’m not in the mood to be barking him to St. Louis today. You’ll be on your own.”

“You rest easy. I’ll handle it.”

“Thanks. ZZZZZZZZZZZ.”

“My goodness. You are out aren’t you?”

“MMMMM fffffffttt.Snork.”

“Gosh. I am alone. This is a big responsibility.”

“ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzZZZZZZZ.”

“Lucy don’t leave me. I don’t know what I’ll do.”

“Snaggle snork. Huh? For heaven’s sake I’m. just trying to get some rest. I’m not going anywhere.”

“Well okay then. Just seems so quiet with you down.”

“Give me a day and I’ll be right back.”

“Oh look. The UPS person. Too bad I don’t feel like barking him to St Louis.”

“Don’t give up, Little one. Do one for the Gipper.”

“Hey Lucy. What are you doing off the couch?”

“I got concerned that you were falling apart.”

“Well it is good to see you out and about.”

“I suppose I could rest up on the patio just as easily.”

“Yeah, and you can listen to me bark the FedEx person to Tulsa”

“Tulsa?”

“She’s already been to St Louis.”

  14. Aww, poor Lucy. She needs some rest, and sunbathing sounds like a good idea.I’m sure Twiggy will stand guard and report back about the FedEx person. These two are so adorable together. 🙂

  17. Nothing strikes fear into my heart like a visit to the dentist. I’m better than I used to be, but I still don’t react as well as Lucy. I could have used a Twiggy the day I got a wisdom tooth pulled. I wasn’t capable of barking anyone to anywhere.

  24. Aw, poor Lucy. Feel better, sweetie. I never had to have Dallas’s teeth messed with (thank goodness!) — must have been all those Dentastix I gave him, as well as all the times I brushed his teeth. Hang in there, Twiggy!

  27. Poor Lucy. A visit to the vet is never much fun, much less when it involves dental work. I hope she feels better soon. That is so sweet about Twiggy being down and out without Lucy, but a little heartbreaking too because it’s so hard if not impossible to cheer them up when they are depressed like that. ❤️

  30. Twiggy was so sweet to worry about Lucy. Funny how animals are so in tune with each other when ill and with humans. Glad Lucy is doing well and was able to go outside. Great dialogue – clever bit about Tulsa and St. Louis!

  32. Oh, deerie deer, dear John! Poor Lucy! Nevertheless, now she might smile to Friday wherever she wants! There is always a good point in visiting dentists. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Twiggy is impressive in her melancholic mood.

      1. That’s an interesting point, dear John. It means that Lucy is alike clock for her. It looks like in Twiggy’s mind reality means those who stay next to her all the time: your wife, you & Lucy. The deer & Fridays are included. What a curious discovery!
