“Lucy. Why are you so fuzzy?”
“Cause the Boss hasn’t figured out depth of field yet.”
“Glad it’s not you.”
It is Friday again, and time to be thinking about the weekend. For those who work, it promises to be a long weekend.
Not much to report today. This week seemed pretty slow. Kept the pressure on my WIP. Had to do some research which tends to slow things down a bit. I make a promise it will be out before the turn of the century. (A little writer humor. Very little.)
I was pleased to be informed that Eternal Road – The final stop took a finalist award in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards (NGIBA). Always feels good to get recognized for work. I will be putting the award on the sidebar when the artwork is available.
I see more bloggers getting worked up over states passing legislation on the voter process. I hope most of them take the time to really look at the laws passed and not just take someone else’s word that evil is afoot. I wish we all would look more closely at situations before firing off a rant, but that is just me.
Today’s JohnKu talks about rants. I hope you all have a great weekend and thoughtful Memorial Day.

Congratulations on the finalist award for Eternal Road!

Woo hoo! A deserving prize, my friend!
And yeah… it’s like when people share stuff on FB or whatever social network without checking facts first… People are so darn lazy.
Excellent JohnKu and we had our long weekend last weekend. Sigh. I think I would like one every weekend. will have to organize a four-day work week in the near future.

Congratulations on the award, Boss.
As for rants, I love to go on them. Just the other night I was ranting about something, but it wasn’t a public airing so I guess you’re right about that.

Private rants are all good not matter how skewed.

And it wasn’t even brought on by an adult beverage as I only partake once a week now!

That’s too bad. Some of the best rants come from being over served with adult beverages. π

Excellent point, John. We would be so much better off if people remembered that they can read and analyze and think for themselves.

Congratulations on the award, John. People like to rant, and they don’t let little things like details get in the way. Have a good weekend.

I guess that is true. maybe I should just ignore them.

Congratulations of the finalist award John. Sometimes a rant is warranted when the people proposing the changes are also the people bragging about why they’re doing it and adding as the cherry on the cake that no-one will be allowed to bring water to the people stuck in long queues at the polling booths. That could cause a lot of suffering. Many will not go because of this and yet will find postal voting restricted leaving them without a vote.
Have a nice Weekend,
Hugs

Understand all that David. All I ask is people check the facts. Many do not. Thanks.π

If everyone would heed your JohnKu, there would be a LOT less noise. Congratulations on the finalist award! It’s a great story and well-deserving of recognition!

Congrats John. I would be tempted to rant longer. Then stop. Ending the rant with the classic Gandalf line. “Run you fools!”

That’s awesome about the finalist award, John. Congratulations!
And I wonder how many rants would deflate like a balloon with a little fact-checking.

I think quite a few. I’ve read rants that are only the repeat of other inaccurate rants.

One nice thing about Italian food is you never leave hungry. If it is warm enough a table outside is the best. π
