Thursday- A Little Personal – Lucy and Twiggy Play Inside

“Looks like we need an inside game. Little One.”

“I’ve been sitting here thinking what it should be.”

“Maybe we could toss around a couple of these balls.”

“Um. Seems like we just did that.”

“One thing is certain.”

“What’s that?”

“As long as you lay on that couch, nothing will get started.”

“I suppose you are right. Race you to the toy pile.”

“You won, as usual, Fast feet. Uh oh. I see your inner puma coming out.”

Yes. The sleek puma turns at the sound of a stick breaking under the hoof of a water buffalo.”

“The water buffalo pauses when she catches the scent of the puma.”

“The puma turns to face her foe head-on.”

“The water buffalo lowers her head in anticipation of skewering the puma on her huge horns.”

“Hey, hold on. I don’t think female water buffalos have horns.”

“Don’t be silly. Females have horns. They are smaller than males but still sharp.”

“How do you know that?”

“Everybody knows that. Look it up if you don’t believe me.”

“No, I believe you. It just seemed strange, is all.”

“That a female could be strong and fight off a puma?”

“No, not that exactly. It’s just when you think of fighting, males come to mind.”

“Well, females can fight too, but I get what you are saying.”

“Yeah, females tend to work things out instead of getting into a ruckus about it.”

“So the Water Buffalo should have a conversation with the puma?”

“Well, no. That takes the fun out of the game. After all, it’s just pretend.”

“I think I’m going to need a rest after that session of gender awareness.”

“I see what you mean. Too much thinking takes the fun out of the game.”

“That might be true of life too, Little One.”

“Careful, Lucy. Someone may accuse you of being a philosopher.”

“I’ve been called worse.”

  7. I think they’re right, that too much thinking takes the fun out of the game, and one needs a rest after a philosophy conversation. 🙂

  12. Wise words from Lucy. I had to chuckle at “I’ve been called worse.” I can’t imagine anyone saying something negative about her. Belly rubs for the girls. Thanks for the Thursday smiles, John.

Are they for you or the dogs?

    1. Yes, tell your friend Twiggy needs the steps to get on the couch. I guess it would have been easier to tell her no couch but after all what else do we have to live for?

  21. I’m looking at that toy pile (very similar to Monkey’s, I might add) and I can’t help but think somebody shelled out a lot of money for toys when these two do such a good job entertaining themselves! Nicely done, John (and I’m a bit green over how CLEAN your house is!!)

  32. Dear Lucy and Twiggy…I’m sorry for being so late. Please apologize to Hamburger for me.

I see you have such a lovely house with so much room to play. No wonder you stay in such great shape..

Hamburger though looks a little under the weather. Perhaps you should feel her bun to see if she’s warm, or tell your dad. She’s rare you know, if you know what I mean.

And as for the last line…I’ve been called worst too. Love that answer.

The toy mess is not large enough.
It is kind of true, though…. about men fighting. Also about female water buffalo having small horns. I had to look that up.
Yes, women can work things out, or spread vicious gossip.
    This is a philosophic post.

  36. Philosophy 101, by Twiggy and Lucy. You can’t get better teachers! I had Wobert Feinstein whose first words in class were: “I’m not here to fuck up your minds, but that table is not thewe.” Dumbest course I ever took. I’m sticking with the Water Buffalo and the Puma.
