Today’s tour is in search of Thanksgiving decorations. It seems the thanksgiving holiday gets short shrift when it comes to decorations. Halloween and Christmas get the lion’s share, but Thanksgiving? Not so much. Today we are catered by Hoover’s Cooking of Austin, and our entertainment is Carrie Underwood although there is a technical problem pasting a YouTube video.
Menu
So lets all hop on the bus.
Here we have a fall banner that reads ‘Hello Fall.'” Not quite Thanksgiving but a step in the right direction.
Not really sure about these wreaths. It could be Thanksgiving.
A wooden wreath and some pumpkins? Maybe
A crow, strawman, and fir tree with a fall bow? I’d say nice try.
I would call this the all-season approach.
A pile of gourds on the mailbox holder? Yeah sure.
A lit snowman and two pumpkins? Nope.
A turkey in the flower bed? Now you are talking.
A pilgrim on the mailbox? Yeah, let’s give it to ’em.
Now here is a Thanksgiving decoration with no questions asked.
I hope you enjoyed the tour and will have some food. Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving and a super week. If you would like to listen to Carrie Underwood’s Thanksgiving song click on the link. It seems I’m having trouble with a direct paste from YouTube.

The last display is very nice. The Vegan Delight looks delightful! I was able to listen to Carrie from the link. Thanks.

Of course my favorite has to be the last one! I imagine that will soon be filled with ‘presents’.
It’s been a long while since I had fried catfish, so I hope they have plenty!!

They do. It is from sustainable stock.

I concur that the last one makes the grade for Thanksgiving decoration. The others are, shall we say, lacking. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Thanksgiving really does seem to get gipped when compared to Halloween and Christmas. Good to see a few things are out there.

I loved the crow, odd as it was, and that last display is awesome. A nice neighborhood tour, John, Happy (early) Thanksgiving!

Some of these were stretching it, huh? I’ve seen a blow-up turkey in somebody’s yard, lots of leftover pumpkins, and a smattering of Christmas lights. You’re right: Thanksgiving decorations get short shrift. Let’s hope they decorate the inside of their homes anyway!

I hate to see Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving. Loved that last display. Those people got it right.

Just a small order of the chicken-fried steak, please … a child’s portion, if you will. The decorations are fun, and the last one is definitely Thanksgiving! I get, though, why people (including me) go straight from Hallowe’en to Christmas in decorating, for it takes a lot of time and effort, and I don’t want to do it three times in three months! I’m lazy! Fun tour, John … and I made it on time this week! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, my friend.

There aren’t too many options for Thanksgiving decorations – pumpkins, scarecrows and pilgrims. Your neighbors have kept up the spirit though. I have enjoyed the tour and food! Happy Thanksgiving!

I got a laugh out of the “all seasons” approach, John. Lol. And that last one… now, they know how to decorate. Happy Thanksgiving.

A great tour to kick off Thanksgiving week, John. We have a couple of houses that went all in on Christmas, but most everyone else is still going with a Halloween/Autumn motif. Have not seen any places where they tried to have the best of both worlds. If I do see a house with a snowman and pumpkins, I may have to document that for forwarding to the Decoration Police.🎃⛄

Listening to Carrie while I comment. Neat voice, cool track!!
Fun song.
Well I just gobbled up this post.
I never see Thanksgiving decorations here. That might be because our Thanksgiving is 2 weeks before Hallowe’en and the Hallowe’en decorations are ruling the roost.
I’ll have the Vegan delight. Sounds delish.
Happy Thanksgiving, John!
Ps. Have you ever eaten catfish?

I have eaten catfish and it is delicious. I made sure there was a Vegan dish for you. Did you like the descriptor? Never had eyes? 💋❦💋❦💋💋🍷🐂

Yes! One of my mottos, If it has eyes, I don’t eat it!
I saw a Catfish when I was 8. We went to the lake for an entire summer. I was swimming (sort of) near the shore, and there was a big black fish with whiskers.
I was terrified. Mom said it was just a catfish, and would not hurt me. Didn’t go swimming the rest of the summer. 🐔 (that’s me – chicken)

That last pic is beautiful! Have to admit, I quit buying real pumpkins a few years ago. I now use a ceramic one that holds tea lights for Halloween.

Real pumpkins are hard around here. If you carve them they are gone in two days. They last for weeks if you don’t carve them.

Hi John, the last display is lovely. It seems like there is less adventure with Thanksgiving deco than for other holidays like Halloween.
