An Asian flavor.
More examples.
The cards we saw on the way in have been creatively displayed by a young artist at leisure.
That is our tour, so now relax and enjoy the food and music.
How wonderful to have this display at your disposal. I could listen to Eric Clapton all day and this is his very best. Thanks and happy Sunday!

First, some butternut squash soup then on my way to talk about ‘patience’ with the young artist and his tower. Beautiful library. Have a great day, John.

It’s an elitist thing, John. ‘Oh, squash, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways (it can be served)’! (pardon to whomever the poet was…or is it whoever)

Of course, I played it all the time growing up…the older kids would sit on me and squash me.

Very cool event. Although, I did think the snack table was supposed to be one of those strange art displays until I read the caption.

I think that would have been cool. Thanks, Charles.

Of what I saw, I think I’ll pick the Asian ones best. Even the calligraphy in their ideographs is precise and beautiful.

Thank you for sharing this adventure, John. I love going to events featuring artists. Schumacher’s paintings are extraordinary. Scary, but extraordinary. And the young guy with the tickets — can’t help but smile. 😊

How wonderful that you celebrate artists and their many talents! A fun exhibit and thanks for taking us along. I’ll have the marinated olives and the beef tartar please (I fell in love with the taste of beef tartar in Prague, where it’s served with a raw egg, onions pickles, and mustard!)

It’s great that Lakeway does stuff like this, John … and that you bring it here to us. I enjoyed seeing the art and have a deep appreciation for the skill of the artists (probably because I do good to draw stick people!) We don’t all have the same talents, do we?

I think God gives each of us that we are good at doing. I’m with you on the art. Thanks, Debbie.

I thought so too, Marie. For quality of execution I thought Sara’s work was the best. Of course, in person the art looks so much different. Thanks.

Love this woman’s art show, John!
Surprise 💥 My fave piece you show is the painting of Janis Joplin.
Groovin’ on the song…
Did you know Clapton was in love with George Harrison’s wife at the time, Pattie Boyd? Clapton wrote this for her.

How much for the Janis Joplin & Queen Elizabeth portraits? I’d like to display them together just like in you photo. The contrast makes me smile. 😁 As does Eric Clapton. 😁😁😁
Great post, John, and as always, I’m blown away by all the cool things that go on in your neighborhood. Most exciting thing I’ve seen around here lately? Migrating goldfinches crowding my feeder tray for the last ten days, with males in full breeding plumage. Yep. That’s it. Good thing I’m an ardent birdwatcher and have actually been enjoying these guys tremendously.
Now about those portraits? 😂😂😂
LikeLiked by 2 people
If I recall they are in the $200 category. I would love to have some finches here. You are very fortunate. 😁 Thanks for the comment.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hmmm. I can probably think of better ways to use $400 or so (like on books!) so maybe I’ll pass. Still. Janis! It’s tempting. 😁
I would send you pictures of the goldfinches if I could, John. Sadly, if I try to go outside, they fly away. And from inside, there are TWO screens between me and them, which do not make for good photos. A few other migrating birds have been visiting, too, like purple grackles. (I love those strutting, preening, silly birds!) And a few brown-headed cowbirds. The gorgeous painted buntings have moved on, but so far, the goldfinches have been here every day, 25 or so fighting for room on my tray feeder. They are wonderful to behold! 😀

Thanks for the description. Made me smile. The cedar waxwings left about a week ago. I describe them as the Hells Angels of the bird world.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Ooooh, I love waxwings, but haven’t seen any in several years. They winter in Florida, but not in our neighborhood, I guess, and I don’t get out in the “wilds” as often as I used to. Glad you get to enjoy them, Hells Angels or not. They’re gorgeous! 😀
