Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy the Brave

“So, a little sunbath huh?”

“Now that the temps are tolerable, a sun bath is just what I need.”

“It does look comfortable.”

“You have no idea. The stress of modern life can get to ya.”

“Well, you deserve to relax.”

“Sush. What is that noise?”

“I didn’t hear anything.”

“Of course not. You have human ears. One step above none.”

“If it’s a danger, I would have heard it.”

“Says the man who routinely allows the FedEx guy onto the porch.”

“So what is it?”

“I’m not sure, but it sounded like a pterodactyl.”

“Those things are extinct.”

“Says the man who never fought a saber-toothed tiger. Now sush. I’m on it.”

“Well?”

“For heaven’s sake. It’s that stupid gecko calling for something.”

“You let him go?”

“Of course. I have better things to do than to bother with an insurance symbol.”

“How do you know it’s not dangerous?”

“Look at him. He changes colors more often than I change my mind. How can that technicolor reptile be dangerous?”

“Where to now?”

“Thought I heard a Rhino by the other gate.”

“You go, girl.”

  1. I’d be offended by the human ears comment, but it’s really not wrong. Poor things are practically useless some days.

    1. I find Twiggy’s comments to be unfiltered so they should be ignored sometimes.

I’ll have a fur companion for the next while. My son got a job in Windsor, ON, where he goes for 3-4 weeks, comes back for 1-2 (not that I have the deets yet). Kat (which was originally Moondust) is an old cat, so I don’t have to worry about her going where she shouldn’t!

      2. I like the name Moondust. Of course Kat is classic. 😁

  15. …that send button got away from me. I like that she’s a Pinkerton Guard with a tail, but if you ever put up a sign…BEWARE OF DOG…and I happened to see her, I’d jump right in the yard to give her a hug. Maybe an earring or a bandana might make her look a little more Philip Marloweish …:)

  32. Aw, Twiggy is so brave!! And I love her comment about human ears being barely better than nothing. Monk would agree with her, I’m sure. Routinely, he hears something to bark at and, when he tries to get me to react and I don’t, well, you can almost see him shrug his shoulders in exasperation!
