Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy Gets a Visitor

“Okay, Dad. I thought you were going to a wedding.”

“Well, it seems a member of the wedding party has COVID.”

“So you’re not going?”

“I can’t take the risk. I’ve got to be careful since I’m older and have other risk factors.”

“What does that mean for me?”

“Well, for one, you don’t get Mom all to yourself.”

“Wow. That’s a kick to the heart. I was counting on some alone time with Mom.”

“Your cousin Kizzy was going to visit for four days, too.”

“She does come on Sundays, so I guess I’ll get by.”

“I have no fear you’ll get by. Kizzy sent you a text.”

“Hey, Twiggy. See you Sunday.”

“That was nice. Well, Dad what should we do now?”

“We can play a game.”

“That sounds great.”

  3. Good thinking, John, even if you’ve already had the covid jab, it doesn’t prevent you catching it, just reduces the effects of covid as I understand it.

That’s disappointing, but you are wise to be careful, John. After going through the Covid ordeal, I can attest that it’s no fun. I bet Twiggy is happy you’re staying home — more playtime with papa. 😊

  15. A very wise decision about the wedding. Having just spent three weeks in the arms of Covid, I can recommend you avoid it! And Kizzy – what a gorgeous canine. But talk about Mutt and Jeff. Kizzy could carry Twiggy around on her back!

  18. I’m sorry you’ll miss the wedding, but caution is prudent in cases like these. Praying they have a good day and long, happy life together.

It’s nice to see Twiggy didn’t take the schedule change too hard. Her cousin looks like a happy dog. I’m sure they enjoy their visits. Ear scratches for Twiggy. And for both her and Kizzy on Sunday.

  20. Covid and hurricanes. Two things that can disrupt a wedding. And always better to find out before rather than after. My sister-in-law who has lots of reasons not to get covid is two weeks into trying to shake the covid some anonyms donor shared with her. Stay safe John. Long distance toasts are therapeutic and still work.

  21. Kizzy is one BIG doggie!! I’m sorry you can’t attend the festivities — doggone COVID has ruined so many special occasions. But I’m glad you’re being careful. No sense getting sick to attend in person when you can view the photos in the comfort of your home!
