Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy Goes to the Vet

So today, we have to go for a check-up.”

“Excellent. I love Dr Flemming and all the folks at the hospital.”

“You need to take care of business before we go.”

“Make a will, do you mean?”

“No, go potty.”

“I said I didn’t have to go. Why don’t we leave already.”

“You need to ride in your seat.”

“I love this seat, and going bye-bye in the car is my favorite thing to do.

You going to be good?”

“Butter wouldn’t melt in my mouth, Dad.”

“You can sit down, you know.”

“I have to be ready in case someone tries to attack the car.”

“Here we are.”

“Let me out, let me out, let me out.”

“You have to ride in your stroller.”

“Why’s that”

“Because you get so excited in there, we don’t want you pulling on your leash and hurting your leg.”

“Moi. Pull on a leash? I’m shocked you would think such a thing.”

“We have to wait.”

“I think I should have gone potty.”

“Please don’t tell me that.”

“Yeah, I was just seeing if you would jump to the bait. Hey, they called my name.”

So Twiggy. I think you are doing very well. Your stitches look great, and your leg motion is terrific.”

“You listening to this, Dad?”

“I must caution you, though. No running, playing tuggy, or pulling on the leash. We’ll see you in six weeks.”

” Thank you, Dr. Flemming. Okay, Dad. You and Mom win. The stroller is a good idea.”

“How do you feel?”

“Like a million bucks. Did the doctor say anything about increasing my food portion?”

“No.”

“Well, I guess I can’t have everything. So far so good.”

  1. I wish Twiggy had been around to give Dixie Rose some lessons about how to behave at the vet. I’m sure glad she got a good report — complete recovery will come close to being a Christmas gift!

    1. You can’t tell by the photo but we took the legs off the sofas and put in wedges so there would be no jumping. The stroller is for her walks which she hasn’t been able to do. She loves it. The car seat is a must. She would be all over the place without it.. Yeah, we go to any end for her.

      1. You are such careful parents (and you know your four-legged kid). I bet she loves the stroller! And it’s best to have a car seat, especially for one (unlike Zeke who would just lay down across the seat or trunk – since it’s open 🙂
        Of course you do!

  2. Wonderful news! And the interest on her face in the car and the joy on her face at the vet when she was getting all the love… so precious. Warms my heart. Extra ear scratches for her today. Thanks for the smiles, John.

  3. The will crack got me. It was a Nora Charles line right out of The Thin Man.

Love the vet photos. Twiggy would have been such a hit on one of those Bob Hope USO Tours. I could hear the applause. And she’s built like Marilyn Monro, just a little shorter, so, can you imagine.?

Putting all my nonsense aside, I’m so glad she’s healing. 🙂

    1. The Thin Man series is one of my favorites. She is doing so well, Susannah that we are very pleased and grateful. I think Twiggy thinks she is Marilyn in certain circumstances. She does know how to please an audience. She is rehearsing a happy birthday song for some reason. 😁

  4. So happy to hear Twiggy is doing well. She looks so happy in the car and at the Vet’s office (not so much the stroller), LOL

Give her some hugs and ear scratches from me. (The cats send their best wishes, as well.)

  5. And Twiggy speaks French. This little one is so fabulous. Glad she is healing well. Her little ‘potty’ trick. Made me think of Gilda Radner’s character when she said, “It was so funny I forgot to laugh.”

  6. Such GOOD news! And that’s one Cadillac of a stroller. I refuse to let Monk see it, or he’d want one, too. Love the photos of Twiggy saying she doesn’t need to potty and that saucy grin when she gets the vet’s verdict!!

  7. I’m so glad Twiggy is doing so well. She looks great too. Dot and Lia love going for car rides also. Although they are not keen on visiting the Vet. Hugs for Twiggy. Such a sweety.

  10. Twiggy,
    You look simply marvellous!
Do you still have to stay in the play pen?
Wow! You have a cool car seat, and taxi!
I just gotta say, if I have to take my cat to the vet, claws and blood are involved.
Tell dad he’s doing a great job!
    🐂 🐂 🐂 🐂
(this is a time for classics)
    Great shots, John!

    1. I still have to stay in the 10 by 10 but I get to have two five minute walks outside. Thanks for saying I look marvelous, Miss Resa. We girls have to stick together. Dad says thanks for the compliment on the job he is doing. He also liked the photo comment. 🐂 🐂 🐂 🐂 Classics it is.

  11. So far, so good! This was a big check-up. Twiggy, you did well, even having to ride in the stroller. The no running and pulling on the leash stuff will be hard, but you can count on Dad.

  12. Wow!

I can’t believe how good Twiggy is about a vet visit.

Just when I thought she could not impress me more than she already does, there she goes and does it.

Excellent news to boot? Win meet win!
