Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy on the Hoof

“You know it’s cold out here.”

“For heaven’s sake, you have your cougar sweater on.”

“We Texas pups aren’t used to this below-freezing weather.”

“It is 43 degrees F (6 C). Hardly freezing.”

“I think I hear some deer breathing.”

“You can actually do that?”

“Well, no. Had you going though, didn’t I?”

“I guess you did. I never know how extensive your animal skills are.”

“I do think there are some deer out here. I can almost smell them.”

“You kidding me again?”

“Heck no. Over in those trees, I think they are gathering.”

“Let’s go over there and maybe catch a glimpse.”

“Okay, we don’t tell anyone about this.”

“Believe me, I wouldn’t want anyone to know you were stalking decorations.”

“I still say there are some over there.”

“I think it is time for dinner.”

“Okay. There’s that too.”

  1. What a perceptive, clever little dog! (Don’t let him read that…he’ll start lording it over you!) To be honest, I never saw one deer….
Have a most pleasant Christmas, whatever you and your family/friends do, and a healthy, successful New Year. Cheers! Love, Peace and Hope. Joy and Eric xx

  2. Well Twiggy, your sense of smell, cannot be faulted… Deer were certainly around the next bend 🙂 You looked so cute too and snug in that Cougar sweater… 🙂

Have a wonderful Christmas Holiday all of you, sending Mega Hugs over the Pond..
Love and Well wishes your way ❤ ❤

  3. I so get the cougar thing. We girls like spots…I had a leopard thing going on, from undies to socks, along with a dress that made me look like a sausage it was so tight. Twiggy I’m sure will understand that when the sale’s woman said…that’s how all the girls are wearing their dresses these days, I said well., hmm…I dunno…and she said…cash or charge?

I do love how she humors you John.. That’s a cougar trait. But most of all, glad she’s well enough to take a turn in her nice backyard.. 🙂

  4. Twiggy–you are the best! You said you heard deer breathing. You didn’t say FAKE deer breathing! Big difference. Merry Christmas to you, little one. You, too, John. 🎄

  5. So nice to see Twiggy walking around! I’m sure she’s a little rusty, so her hunting prowess (or lack thereof today) is understandable. Sending belly rubs to her and holiday wishes to all of you.

  6. That is a very sharp coat, Twiggy! You are rocking it. Very stylish. Nice to see you out and about in such frigid temps (I’ll try not to call you a weather wimp). We won’t say anything about the Christmas decorations…

  7. She’s pretty cute in that sweater, John. During our recent storms, we were reminded how much Maddie loved being out in them She loved to sniff the wind. It wouldn’t surprise me if she picked up the scent of those same deer. They’re out there – you can trust Twiggy.

  8. Twiggy is so cute in her cougar sweater!! And how wonderful to see her up and about again — I know the healing must be going well (but it’s been a long haul for all, hasn’t it?)

    1. Yes she had the surgery in October. So it has been eight weeks of mending. She had a great doctor visit and is cleared to be pretty normal inside. Still needs a leash when outside for at least two more weeks.
