Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Tempeste – Getting to know You

“Another lesson I have to teach. Body language.”

“What about it?”

“Look at my ears. They are telling you I don’t want to be bothered.”

“I’m not bothering you. We are just playing.”

“Well, playing to you might be annoying to someone else.”

“Are you annoyed?

“Let’s just say I have had better days.”

“Would a kiss help?”

“That was lovely, and it did help brighten things.”

“Where you going?”

“I’m going over to the refrigerator to lie down.”

“Why the refrigerator?”

“There is nice warm air coming out of the bottom.”

“Oh, I can feel it. It’s wonderful.”

“I suppose there is enough for two.”

“You are the bestest sister.”

“You comfortable?”

“I think I need to move just a little more.”

“How about now?”

“I’m going to get off of you.”

“Aw gee, it was just starting to feel good with you up there.”

“Dark sarcasm, right?”

“You bet your Pink Floyd.”

  1. It makes life so much easier when the two dogs get on, doesn’t it? It’s nice to see Tempeste (how long before you shorten it and start calling her Tempy?) settling in so well – unless it’s all down to judicious selection of images.

    1. These two have their moments. This series was caught and not edited. Other times Twiggy gives a warning to go find someone else to annoy. Not sure about the nickname. So far she has deserved the full name in discipline.

      1. I know what you mean, John, but I’m sure they’ll settle down to each other and not emulate Trevor’s relationships with both Ulysse and Eos. That was 40% peaceful coexistence (“if you ignore me, I’ll ignore you”) and 60% “come too close to me and, at best, you’ll live to regret it!”

  2. Toddlers of any breed can win over their sibling’s heart with cuddles, cute antics, and persistence. Very sweet story and photos, John.

  3. I wonder if Twiggy can remember how patient Lucy was with her. Older siblings certainly have a lot of responsibility. Teaching, tolerating… I love the new addition to the family and will certainly enjoy watching the girls settle into their new roles. Sending them both belly rubs.

    1. I don’t think Twiggy remembers since she is not as patient as Lucy. Tempeste is every bit as annoying as Twiggy was as a puppy. They are working it out though. They do appreciate the belly rubs. Thank you, Staci.

  4. Twiggy is a good teacher – she learned a lot from Lucy. I’m SO happy to see them hanging out together, but Twiggy has developed patience with Tempeste climbing all over her! Keep the photos coming – I love Tempeste already!

  5. Ooof…the indignities of being a big sis. If it’s any consolation, this too shall pass, dear Twiggy. Hopefully sooner than later. But I have to admit, it was adorably cute watching Tempeste trying to imitate the Flying Wallendas across Twiggy’s head. Talk about an adorable balancing act!

  6. This was so cute. She is tiny next to her big Sister, but I’ll bet before you know it she”ll be an athlete too, doing relays around the yard. Love the whole fridge scenario, Twiggy is warming up, pun intended. 🙂

  7. I think I’m having a cuteness overload! Tempteste is so adorable, climbing all over Twiggy. It makes me think back to when Twiggy first met Lucy and Bailey.

Big sisters are the best! (I know because I’m a “little sister.”)

Fun photos and dialogue, John! 🙂

  8. Grasshopper has many lessons to learn. It’s a great thing she has such a wise and understanding teacher to show her the ropes. Not to mention that comfy warm breeze that emanates from the bottom of the fridge.

  9. Watching dogs/puppies work out the hierarchy and understanding of what is and isn’t allowed is one of the funniest things about raising two animals.

  10. Oh, this is too cute! Now Twiggy is learning the intricacies of being a big sister. I wonder if she’d rather be the little sis? But it looks like Tempeste is settling in nicely!

  11. I was laughing all the way through this post! Those two are just so cute, and now Twiggy gets to experience some of the eye-rolling that Lucy used to do with her … lol. I get you and The Producer never get tired of watching them xo

  12. MY, my! Twiggy, Tempeste is the tiniest little thing. Does she want you to be a mommy of sorts? What are puppy teeth?

Tell dad it looks good to me… from way over here. Once Tempeste grows up a bit, puma and black panther will kick in!
