Thursday – A Little Personal – Tempeste and Twiggy Housebound

“Hey, Twiggy. Want to go outside and ruckus?”

“That sounds like fun. Let’s do it.”

“I think we should start with a game of Panther and Puma.”

“Always fun, Little One.”

“Mom, we need to go out and play.”

“Unless it’s an emergency. It’s too hot. It is 105°F (4o.5°C) out there”

“What do you think? Should we fake an emergency?”

“When you do that, you may be ignored when a real emergency comes up.”

“I’m dying to get outside and play. What do we do?”

“We can still play inside. We just can’t run around as much.”

“How about we switch roles. You be the panther, and I’ll be the puma.”

“You crack me up, Tempeste. You wouldn’t even know where to start being a puma.”

“Oh yeah. How about this roar?”

“You did scare me there. Maybe I could give you a few pointers.”

“I have been watching you, so I think I can handle it.”

“Okay then. Let’s just step over to the mat and give it a go.”

“Hey, what are you doing?”

“Showing you the puma face grab move.”

“Yikes. You caught me off guard.”

“I thought you said you could handle it?”

“Well, maybe I overstated my skill set.”

“The puma holds the panther down for the count of three.”

“Okay, I’ll admit it. We need to stay in our own roles.”

“At least you were willing to try something new. You get kudos for that. You ready to play Puma and Panther?”

“The panther stalks her prey. This will be a clean kill.”

“The puma gets ready for the attack. The panther will be no match.”

  1. It sure is a little warm for outdoor play, but they clearly made the best of it. There are some wonderful facial expressions throughout these photos; I suspect dad had as much fun playing with the camera as the girls had just playing.

  2. I’m not sure Twiggy can keep calling Tempeste “Little One.” I love that they adapted to indoor play so easily. Stay cool. (This summer has been brutal.)

So, who won the last battle? They were both so confident. lol

Sending them belly rubs. Thanks for the smiles, John.

  3. Oh dear, Mom was right, 105 is way too hot to be outside! Looks like Twiggy & Tempeste made the best of things💕. Hopefully it will cool down soon!

  4. I laughed all the way through this, John. The panther roar is amazing as is the smile on Twiggy’s face. They must give you hours of enjoyment at their interactions.

Ear scratches and pets to both of our entertainers!

  5. Didn’t realize it was so hot there.

    I love them playing wolf.

“What do you think? Should we fake an emergency?”

Funny how Twiggy is now the more mature one, when Lucy used to be. She taught her well.

I miss Lucy, John. Maybe you could do a retrospective sometime. I’ll bet your readers, me being one, would love that. 🙂

    1. The retro is a great idea, Susannah. I think you can imagine, I have to work up to that. Still not ready. I can’t look at her photos without tears. I’ll get there sooner or later. Thanks for the suggestion. 😊.

  6. 105!!! Good grief! Yeah, no playing outside in those temps!

As for these two, they looked none the worse for wear for having to play inside.

I can’t believe how tall Tempeste is! You have tall and lithe vs short and stocky, I mean solid.

  7. I remember those days when it was still in the nineties by bedtime — what misery, for man and beast. Glad Twiggy and Tempeste are heeding those heat warnings and enjoying an indoor ruckus. (I won’t brag about how cool it’s been this week because we, too, will heat up again by the weekend!)

  8. Haha – I love these pictures, John – oh the expressions on Tempeste and Twiggy and your captions are perfect! We are having fall-like weather this week, but my family in AZ is seeing 100s. Stay cool 🙂

  9. It makes me happy to see them having so much playtime together lately. Once Tempest shed her cone, she’s been ready for action.

  10. Aww, I loved this. I usually dislike dogs, but these two have caught me off my guard. I can’t help but laugh at them and blow little kisses in the air.

Twiggy, you guys are a riot. Of course no one could out puma you.

Tempeste sure is getting big. She’s losing her puppy figure.

Well, tell dad I say hi!

    1. Rescues both. I read Finnegan’s story and I will never understand how owners can give up their pets unless there is some big reason why the pet would be better off somewhere else. Thanks for the visit.
