Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Tempeste on a Walk

Tempeste. Look out the window, there is a lot to see.”

“I like to keep things under control by looking down.”

“This is a great park. Let’s go to the chess players.”

“What are chess players?”

“It’s a sculpture of two beings involved in a chess game.”

A game of chest. That sounds odd.”

“It is an ancient game of strategy. And it’s chess, not chest.

“Looks pretty boring if you ask me.”

These elk sculptures look life-like, don’t they?”

“That is a serious set of antlers.”

Tempeste. Quit that.”

“I just want to see if it is anyone I know.”

Let’s head over to the heron.

“We should be quiet and not scare him.”

“He’s made of bronze and not going anywhere.”

“That is good to know. I like him.”

“How about that old log over there?”

“There could be some interesting creatures in it.”

“Well, that was a bust. Not even a spider.”

“You would at least expect some hapless ant.”

“I want to show you the bridge and creek.”

“This has been a great walk so far.”

“Some of the creek flows through the culvert.”

“Yeah, I see that.”

“Some also flows under the bridge.”

“This looks new.”

“It is. You can see the old foot path crossing.”

“I want to go down there.”

“Be careful. You don’t want to slip off the footpath.”

“This is much more interesting than the bridge.”

“Yes, it is, and more dangerous. Let’s go to the greenbelt entrance.”

“Okay. Hey wait. I see something in the water.”

“What did you see?”

“A black dog looking back at me.”

You are kidding me, right?”

“Yes, I am. This is beautiful.”

“A favorite place.”

  1. It’s great for me to see the girls being taken for a walk through that very nice park. The footpath next to the bridge is real interesting to me, and so are those sculptures. Thanks for sharing this, John.

  4. Thanks for taking us on a walk with the girls. Must always be interesting to see what they see. The picture of Tempeste sniffing the deer’s read is a howl. Belly rubs to both of them!

  6. What an interesting walk! There are so many things to see (and sniff!). I think I might like the greenbelt, but getting there on that old foot path might be challenging … especially after a rain.

  7. John, I’ve absolutely loved a lot of the visits with the girls… but this might be my favorite. This park is wonderful. I really liked the chess statues — so much life and honesty in the poses of those simple figures. And the visit just kept getting better from there. No wonder Twiggy looks like she’s pulling at her leash — I’d want to keep going too. I laughed so hard at Tempeste sniffing the statue’s butt! Heartfelt thanks for this visit. Big hugs.

  8. My favorite shot is watching Tempeste smell the rear end of the elk statue. Art imitating life (or something like that.) Cool that they have their own “carseats.”

  9. What a beautiful place to go for a walk. I love it there. I agree, the old path is way neater.

Is this Tempeste’s first time at this park? Will you guys go there lots in the summer?

    Hi to dad!

  10. The Resort in the nature! Wonderful views, dear John, however I believe that’s it’s not so easy to walk with them due to their temper.😎 🍤🍤🍤🍻Strength & bravery are needed!
