Thursday – A little Personal – Twiggy and Tempeste as Puma and Panther.

“Want to play Puma and Panther?”

“I’m always up for that game.”

“Want to switch? I can be the panther, and you the puma?”

“Wait a minute. Look at my color. How would that work?”

“You would have to imagine that you were a puma.”

“That would be hard since I have invested so much of my persona in being a panther.”

“All right then. The puma pads through the desert.”

“The panther is on a hilltop overlooking the puma’s progress.”

“The puma is surprised by the attack.”

“The panther roars and demands the puma surrender.”

“The puma roars back. ‘Not on my life.'”

“The panther tells the puma that she will take that wager.”

“Wager? What wager?”

“You just bet your life rather than surrender.”

“Okay by me, panther. You want a piece of me, come get it.”

“I can trash-talk with the best. Your old lady wears combat Boots.”

Where did you get that one?”

“I was watching an old Henny Youngman stand-up routine.”

“The puma has to avoid another onslaught from the panther.”

“The panther comes close to finishing off the puma.”

“Too bad. The puma pulls the old salamander trick and breaks free.”

“Hey, that move was outlawed in 05.”

“Well, tough. It still works. Want to rest?”

“I could go for a breather. Sure.”

“That was fun.”

“It sure was.”

“You okay?”

“I just love my sister.”

“Aw. You are the best.”

  1. ‘Your old lady wears combat Boots’–how funny! Not heard that one in years. They are so cute–even when they are dangerous wild animals.

  2. I never fail to cringe when I see dogs wrangling with each other because they always look so fierce. Like they’re going to tear one another from limb to limb! Then I have to remind myself that they’re only playing … and having a whale of a good time, too. Nicely handled, John, and it’s so sweet to see their loving relationship.

  3. “Your mother wears combat boots” was a common taunt on my grade school playground. Now I’m wondering if Youngman picked up the line from the playground. It was fun to find it here. Just hope they never learn “So’s your old man.”

  4. What a fun game and how sweet they are sisters at the end – that last picture was so lovely! Loved ‘your mother wears combat boots’ – haven’t heard that in years!

    Belly rubs to both combatants!

  5. This was such a charming, witty, and emotionally grounded exchange—it beautifully captured the imaginative power of sibling play! I loved how the banter was playful yet carried layers of personality and connection, especially with lines like “I just love my sister.” The subtle shift from mock battle to tender affection was seamless and sweet. The touches of humor (combat boots and Henny Youngman!) added a vintage flair that made me smile. A truly lovely read—thank you for sharing this slice of warmth and creativity. 💛✨

  7. Looked like a bit of hide and seek also going on John… Great to see these two enjoying the odd rough and tumble… Sibling rivalry keeping them in tip top form. 🙂

Have a lovely weekend John xx

  8. Well that was vicious! (NOT)

    Those attacks look kinda, lovey.

Ahh, you girls set a good example. If humans fought like you 2 do, the world would be a better place.

  9. Puma and panther…sounds like a good match-up.

Just wondering if human kids their age would have started expecting ipads and phones to play with? Something to be said for satisfaction.
