A Little Personal – Twiggy and Tempeste Have New Toys

“What are these, Twiggy?”

“They look like giant macaroons to me.”

“There is no squeaker.”

“Not every toy has a squeaker, Tempeste.”

“Yeah, but then what’s the incentive to tear it apart?”

“That’s just it. You are not supposed to tear it apart.”

“Does yours have a squeaker?”

“I haven’t played with it long enough to know.”

“I’ll check it out.”

“Sure, and then get it all wet with your drool.”

“What’s wrong with my drool?”

“You gotta be kidding me.”

Alright then, I’ll just play with mine. What are you doing up there?”

“I just asked Mon to close the gate and toss mine in here.”

“Why did you do that?”

“So that I can play with my toy in peace.”

“Since when do I bother you while you are playing with your toy?”

“The last time was two minutes ago.”

“You mean when I was going to check for a squeaker?”

“Yup. Squeaker check now, sopping wet toy later.

“That’s not fair.”

“As is life cricket.”

  1. Tempeste can’t be blamed for possessing such youthful exuberance. Hell, I feel envious of that spirited curiosity! But as her wise teacher knows, there is a time for sharing and a time for drawing back and giving your sister her space. And yes, it involves drool.

  2. I don’t miss the drool. Lucy doesn’t drool. As for squeakers, why do they all sound the same? The duck, octopus, leopard, lamb, rabbit, dog, chicken, et al, all sound like the mouse under my stove. Twiggy likes her privacy, doesn’t she?

      1. Of course, I should have known. Although, I was hoping that it was a major squeaker manufacturing company with hundreds, if not thousands, of employees located in the heartland of the good ol’ USA.

  3. Little sisters can be such brats sometimes.

With a brand-new toy. IDENTICAL, to boot, one would think… but no, I know how it is. Sorry Tempeste but I don’t blame Twiggy for not wanting to swap your drool!

      1. Occasionally Wendy comes up to Raji while he’s dozing on my lap and starts licking his head. He tenses at first, knowing he shouldn’t trust Wendy. And, right on cue, as soon as he relaxes and starts to enjoy the grooming, she pulls back and slaps him. 🤷🏼‍♀️😹

  4. The Monk doesn’t realize how fortunate he is, not having a sibling to slobber on his toys. All he has to do is share them with me and the Domer when he’s home. I think those macaroons look just right for your girls … and they’re pink, too!

  5. Yes, your new toys do look like macaroons. Although there’s nothing macaroonish tasting about drool. So, it’s probably good that each plays with their own toy.

Hmm, I think there’s a doggie song and dance about macaroons that you guys could partake in –

    🎼 💃🏽 Hey, Macaroona 💃🏽🎼

Just ask dad! He knows everything!

    O💃🏽 O💃🏽 O💃🏽
