“Twiggy, this sun feels good.”
“Yes, it does. Why not take a load off and enjoy it?”

“Oh yeah. This feels good.”
“I thought so too.”

“Have you ever thought about the meaning of life?”
“Um, besides kibble, chew toys, naps, walks, and treats?”

“Yeah. You know, do we have a higher purpose for being here?”
” This is a serious subject. What brought this up?”

“I was watching a TV show about the universe, and it got me thinking.”
“Be careful when you do that.”

“It’s just that the universe is so big and we are so small.”
“When you think about it, our universe is perfect.”

“How do you mean?”
“Look around. There are fences to keep us protected and a nice house to keep us warm.”

“Yeah, but don’t you want to go beyond these walls and experience what is out there?”
“You mean run for my life from cars and coyotes?”

“Oh man, you just made a good point. Okay, I’m off the universe stuff.”
“Yeah, let’s contemplate our next meal or maybe the next toy we are going to play with.”
“Sold.”

Or, as Twiggy might say, “Choose your universes carefully — you’re the one who’s going to live in them.”

Perhaps, in another universe, Twiggy and Tempeste are writing stories about you…

Great thought, Keith. They just got a comment from an English sheepdog suggesting I’m writing stories about them. 😊

Ah. Thank you, Miss Darlene. That does put it into perspective. 😁

Bond has also decided his universe is perfect – which has saved me a lot of running. When he was younger, he’d slip through the door and make a run for it. Now he rarely tries, lol.

Tempeste tried it once. Got outside, looked around, and ran back inside.

Whew! Heavy topic today there, Tempeste. Twiggy…the voice of reason. They look so cute sitting together–Twiggy doesn’t move and Tempeste is all the place. Adorable little ones.

Thank you, Lois. You have to really look carefully for the subtle moves Twiggy makes. 😁

A deep conversation today, at least on Twiggys side. But Tempeste has her ducks in a row. They look so cute sitting side by side in the sun. I hope you’re enjoying the sun, too.

Yes, it is in the 80s today. I can take off my flannel shirt.

It’s so nice when our pets (and ourselves) are content with what they (we) have. Love this philosophical moment between the girls. Sending them ear scratches. Thanks for the smiles, John.

Thank you for the ear scratches, Staci. We all should be grateful for our universe.

Sometimes I envy the calm that is a dog’s life, but then they sniff a butt, and I’m out.

It’s nice to see Twiggy and Tempeste soaking up the sunshine, John, and good that they decided it’s safer to stay in their yard.

I think Twiggy has had that opinion all along. As Tempeste gets older, it will begin to make sense to her, too.

Those two ladies are living the dream out there in that warm sun. Good decision to not ruin it with philosophical musings.

Ah, a dog’s life. They don’t know how good they have it (at least, the ones adopted into loving families who provide for their every need!) That sunshine looks inviting — I’d be right out there soaking it up with Twiggy and Tempeste!

Nothing more they need out there, and coyotes have been in the news lately.

Ahhh… The universe is a place of endless wonder… And unfortunately endless coyotes too. A wise decision from the girls. 💖 💖. Hugs.
