Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Tempeste Go Hunting.

“Hey, Twiggy. What are you looking at?”

“A whole herd of moochers.”

“Moochers? What do you mean?”

“Those deer who have Mom buffaloed.”

“Scoot over, let me see.”

“There they are getting handouts.”

“Wow. You are right. Why do you call them moochers?”

“Because they always have a hoof out for carrots.”

“Carrots? You and I don’t eat carrots.”

“I know it’s just the principle.”

“Oh, I get it. Mom pays attention to them.”

“Well, yeah.”

“And you are jealous.”

“Hold on. There’s one that deserves to be barked to St Louis.”

“How long have you had this obsessive jealousy of the deer?”

“I don’t have an obsessive jealousy. It’s just, I think these guys have the potential to take over the yard.”

“A cute little fawn like that one is going to take over?”

“It grows up. Sometimes it turns into a big ole buck.”

“Well, they are leaving.”

“They will be back. Trust me.”

“You going to wait here for them?”

“I just might.”

“How long are you going to wait?”

“We have all day.”

“What do you mean, ‘We?'”

“Okay then. I have all day.”

  1. Those are some bold deer! The ones around here would never approach our door. Then again, Lucky could be a deterrent.

I really love the antler toy behind the girls on the floor. It’s like psychological warfare! lol

Belly rubs to the girls. Thanks for the smiles, John.

  2. Love the deer, and the fawn is so cute. But I can see that the girls might get jealous. At least they didn’t bark them to St. Louis. You’d have to throw them in the soundproof room! Do they play with that deer antler?

Anther fun time with the girls!

  3. I got a kick of watching how your photos show Tempeste slowly taking over Twiggy’s lookout spot. How fun having deer in your yard, though. Better than TV. Hey, girls–is there room for me?

  4. I do enjoy seeing how close the deer get to your residence, girls. After having a summer without deer sightings, a group of nine have made an appearance in a nearby field in recent days. They seem to be doing well. Parents and kids munching away on the greenery, and nearby passers-by just fawn all over them.🦌

  5. I can see each of their respective opinions. Twiggy figures those carrots are cutting into the food and treats budget, I get it. And Tempeste is like, life’s too short and my attention span as far as this goes is even shorter so I’m outta here.

  6. Haha, Twiggy and Tempeste are the ultimate neighborhood watch team, John! 🦌🐶 ‘Having a hoof out for carrots’ made me laugh out loud. You captured their inner thoughts so perfectly—it’s hilarious how much drama happens right outside their window!

  7. Obsessive jealousy, or are the deer going to take over the front yard? Tempeste just might wait and see, although barking to St. Louis might be a better idea. Or better yet, get treats like the deer do.

  8. Oh lucky you two!

It’s wonderful that mom feeds those beautiful creatures. Of course they are not as beautiful as you, so you need not worry!

You guys are related, in a way? I know there was a v in the road long ago, and deer became deer, dogs became dogs.

Still, there is a relation. Why don’t you guys try on thos antlers and look in the mirror. Just be careful mom doesn’t shoo you into the yard and feed you carrots!

    Hi Dad!
