Thursday – A Little Personnel – Twiggy and Tempeste Avoid the Heat

“Twiggy. Why don’t we go outside?”

“It’s over 100 degrees (40+C); that’s why.”

“I guess that’s a little too much for Frenchies.”

“You bet it is. With our short snouts, we would run out of breath very quickly.”

“That makes sense. I guess we will have to play inside.”

“Yes, we will. At least until this evening when it gets a little cooler.”

“You doing that marshmallow again?”

“I love this marshmallow. Go find a toy to play with.”

“I think this popsicle looks pretty good.”

“Okay. Well, give it a run for its money.”

“First I will grab it by its stick and shake it.”

“You go, girl.”

“Then  I’ll tell it to give up or die.”

“Now you’re talking.”

“Then I…Wait, what’s that?”

“That elf by the stairs you mean?”

“Yeah. Where has this been all my life?”

“I’m sure you have tripped over it at least five times today.”

“But now it’s like a long-lost love.”

“Tempeste. Get a grip. I think you are getting cabin fever.”

        2. That is terrible but almost the same here. The eveming walks are shorter but Rollo likes them. However, he does not have a short snout and we bring with us plenty of water for him to drink and fur us to put on his belly or nose. There is no point in putting water on thick fur because it clumps, hold in heat, and may make it worse, at least if you are outside long.

  7. It’s wise to stay inside when it’s that hot girls. It’s cooled down slightly here, thankfully. 28C to 32C we can deal with, not 40C!! Thankfully Twiggy and Tempeste have lots of fun toys to play with. xo

  8. It’s a delight to start the morning with the girls, John. Tempeste walking over her toy all day before noticing it made me laugh. Thanks for letting us visit. The weatherman said that on Sunday, the high here might “only” be 94. I’m not sure that I dare to hope.

    1. She would do that for sure. She would also give you a nuzzle if she thought you were stressed. Thanks, Lois. When I complain to her about my little troubles, she looks at me in the eye. Next, I hear myself saying, “I’m being silly, right?” Then the nuzzle and the psychology session is over.

      1. Good idea. I, on the other hand WILL go out and take advantage of it as it is 75 but feels like 88 and at this time of the year, there will be fewer and fewer occasions to soak in said rays 🙂

  23. Your weather is defnitely built for the indoors, John. It is ironic Twiggy trains Tempeste in common sense from time to time because that’s exactly what happens with my wife and I. Guess who the trainee is?😁 Her patience wears thin as well, but I try to be a good student.

This dialogue brought such a smile to my face, John! 🐶 Frenchies really are such funny, theatrical little souls—Tempeste getting cabin fever and suddenly rediscovering the elf by the stairs is too cute! Glad the girls are staying safe and cool indoors away from that brutal 100+ degree heat. Hope you all get some cooler evening air soon! ✨
