Another Friday is here. Only eight hours until we can think about relaxing. The beautiful thing about Memorial Day on a Monday is the week seems pretty short. A show of hands. How many kept thinking of Monday as Sunday? It is kind of weird when you consider a perfectly nice day like Tuesday as a Monday. Then Wednesday shows up, and you are not even exhausted, so a perfectly good Hump Day goes wasted. Thursday goes by in a flash, and here we are. This makes the idea of a four-day work- week sound exquisite, doesn’t it? Of course, once a four-day is a reality (If ever) then the target will be a three-day. Are we never satisfied?
Today’s JohnKu talks about satisfaction.
Satisfaction by John W. Howell © 2017
Maslow had it right,
Achieve one satisfaction. . .
Another rears up.

I vote for four day work weeks every week! Great Johnku and the meme…well, that’s just adorable. Happy Friday, John!

Thank you, Jill. I thought you would like it (The meme I mean. Could have fun with those words.) 🙂

I managed to retain my sense of time until Wednesday. Then things got shaky for some reason.

If I wasn’t on the computer so much I’d probably get most days mixed up. That’s what happens when you’ve been retired for a while. The dog in sunglasses is cool. Have a great weekend, John. 🙂 — Suzanne

Great Johnku – provocative, as I hadn’t thought of satisfaction in that way. One elicits another…love that thought. 😊

The sad thing about humans is how fast we regress once a level of satisfaction is reached. Maslow pointed out the “never satisfied” aspect of human behavior. Thanks, Gwen. 🙂

We need more 4-day weeks. Then we could keep these things straight. You’re right about satisfaction. As we started improving our house, with each repair/improvement, our eyes were drawn to the next ugly thing. Now I have to paint the foundation. It never ends.

I know how that works, Dan. Foundation paint is not fun.. Good luck. 🙂

GR8 JohnKu today, John. I think that the folks in robotics are well on the way to giving many, many people shorter work weeks – and for some, no work days. Have a super weekend, John!

I was completely fouled up this week trying to remember which day was which, but it was a good foul up. Any time a four day work week rolls around, I’ll take it. Of course, like you said, three would be better. A very wise JohnKu 🙂

Memorial Day messed me up! I thought when I retired I would have no more work weeks – but I find they are defined by people around me and I have also fallen into a sort-of work week with my writing. I use the weekend to recharge, socialize and try to find new things to experience.
I have to admit, even when I was working, a four day week wouldn’t have worked because I was in my lab all the time.

I know what you mean, Nolle. I could never have done a four day myself. Now I’m on a seven day week.

Let’s not push that four-day workweek too fast. As it is, I never find enough time to get done all I want and need!! Lovely JohnKu and that dog made me smile!

Thanks Debbie. Now that I think about it, maybe a five day is best. 😀
