  11. Lovely, John, and well said. It’s a 3-day weekend, but I often wonder how many stop to think of its true purpose…

    1. Very few unless they have been touched by the loss of a loved one.

      1. We haven’t lost a loved one, but both of our fathers served, and we do honor those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. ❀️

      2. Good for you. My whole family have been in the service. The headstone pictured is my grandfather who is buried in Arlington Cemetery.
