Since we got a cold front last night, the morning temperature is in the 70s instead of the 80s a perfect time to play outside.
“Hey, Lucy. Come on out. It’s beautiful.”
“Coming Little One.”
“Wow. You are right. Smell that air.”
“I know. Feels so good.”
“Okay, so Let’s kick the ole ball around.”
“Which is your goal, Little one. North or South?”
“Uh, South looks pretty good.”
“Great. I’ll take the North.”
“I’m going to walk a few paces, and then we’ll have a kickoff.”
“A kickoff? What’s that?”
“We both run at the ball and try to get control.”
“Okay. Then what? Wait, what is that?”
“Sounds like a package of cheese being opened, Little One.”
“Think we ought to go see?”
“I think we should play. Then go see. The cheese will always be there.”
“Once it goes into the cold place, it’s hard to whine it out again. Hey. What did you do?”
“Just kicked the ball through the goal post at the South goal, that’s what.”
“OMG, it is in the flower bed.”
“Yup and the home team wins by a goal. Now to the cheese.”
“Hold up. It takes two to beg. I’m coming with you.”
Two to beg! Love it. Thanks for the Thursday smiles, John. Have a lovely day you and all 🙂

It may take two, but I suspect Twiggy is the most effective whiner. She’s got youth on her side. 😀 Great story, John.

Ole-ole-ole! Do they like a sport whistle? It seems to be that Twiggy might be attracted by sounds of the kind. Lucy, no. She is too smart. 🙂

Whining the cheese out of the fridge is a skill that my two are constantly refining. Their preference is for mozzarella. 😂 Glad the kids are getting a break from the heat, John. Enjoy…

These guys have a preference for cheddar but anything will do. Thanks, Lori.

I’ve been known to whine for a slice of cheese…it’s my favorite. 🙂 Great story, John! I hope you’ll send some of that air our way. It’s so humid!

We did get a break. It is only going to last until tomorrow. Then the Southern wind picks up and brings the Gulf humidity with it. Here I’ll share a 36% humidy with you. 😁

You’re welcome, John. (I just had to indulge myself and go read it again. I hope the girls were able to whine that cheese out of the cold place.)

Whenever cheese is opened at our house, it’s understood that you share with Bond. He seems to be able to sense its presence from anywhere in the house.

Same here. No portion too small either. Thanks, Teri.

The morning sounds positively balmy and perfect for the girls to play outside.
Also, I have to tell you that I loved this line:
“Once it goes into the cold place, it’s hard to whine it out again.”
Still chuckling over that one :).

Hahahaha. Thanks, Mae. I think sometimes this is the motavator. Get the cheese when it first comes out cause when it goes back that is a lost opportunity. 😁

We got that nice cold front here, too — after we suffered through the remnants of Cristobal. Glad you’re getting to share it, even if it is only temporarily. Looks like your sod is taking well, and that’s a great place for some soccer!

Yes the sod is coming along. It had it’s first mow on saturday so it is in recovery mode. It is so nice on the feet too. Thanks, Debbie.

LOL. Thanks for the fun visit, John. Cheese is about the only treat I’ve fount that I can give Crystal (without making her sick), and then only in very tiny amounts. Hugs on the wing.

Our pups can’t have much either and it has to be real cheese not the synthetic stuff. Have a great weekend, Teagan.

ROFL!! “Once it’s in the cold place it’s hard to whine it out again.” Funny and brilliant!! Lucy is pretty tricky. I think I’ll join them for some cheese. I’ve got a nice wheel of Brie waiting in the cold place for me…no whining required. 😀

Do dogs really like cheese? Such a cute post, John. We are having freezing weather by our standards. It was only 10 degrees Celsius today and I have been sitting in front of the fire all day.

Dogs love cheese. Yes we would find 10 gegrees uncomfortable too. How cold does it get there in the winter?
LikeLiked by 1 person
No cold like some parts of the USA, John. I have only known it to snow here twice in my life time. During June and July the temperatures drop below freezing most nights and there is frost in the mornings. The day time temperatures, however, can go up to 25 degrees Celsius. We are having a colder winter this year and the temperature is only 18 degrees Celsius today. Freezing by our standards.
