“Twiggy. Can you hear me?”
“Yes. What’s going on in there.”
“The tree is going up. You won’t want to miss that.”
“So what’s in the boxes?”
“”Don’t you remember from last year. Ornaments.”
“And what’s that pile over there.”
“I don’t think you are supposed to touch those.”
“Yeah, well, Dad and Mom aren’t here, so I’m going to investigate.”
“I would keep my wet nose out of there if I were you.”
“These don’t smell like anything good. You may be right.”
“Yes. Better leave them alone.”
“Look, those boxes are open.”
“Please protect us all, Baby Jesus.”
“Look, Lucy. You can dig on this top and not make a mark.”
“Ah yes, the spirit of the holiday.”
“Well, Lucy. I think we are finished here.”
“Yes, in rode the six hundred to save the day.”
“The tree looks good. How about a closeup?”
“Anything for you, Little One. Happy Holidays from Our House to Yours.
Oh, Lucy and Twiggy, what a good job you did! The tree looks absolutely brilliant! β€

If only I had the girls to help, my tree would be up already. It’s good that Twiggy decided to stay out of those lights; lights don’t need any extra help in getting tangled! It all looks lovely — enjoy every minute of the season.

Gorgeous, John. Clearly having such competent supervision is the key to success. π I helped my neighbor put up her tree last Sunday. On Monday, her two dogs ate all the ornaments on the lower half and nearly pulled the entire thing down while tugging at the garland. Ho! Ho! Ho! π€

What a story, Lori. I’m glad ours do not even think of pulling anything off the tree. Thank you for sharing. π

Impressive, John. I won’t post pictures of ours. To describe it as modest would be over-egging the pudding to an unacceptable degree.

Twiggy is always up for mayhem. Poor Lucy can’t stand any form of disruption so she is always worried about Twiggy’s next move. Of course, when we tell Twiggy,”NO,” Lucy rushes over and gives us a bark. It is hard keeping discipline around here. Thanks, Jill.

Lucy and Twiggy are so well trained, I’m impressed. I bet they protect the tree now as one of their achievements or at least mom and dad’s cherished item. I loved the story and the photos. Merry Christmas, John. β¨πβ¨

Merry Christmas, Gwen. They do like the tree and pretty much leave it alone. So what you say makes a good deal of sense. Thanks. π

Beautiful tree, John. Seems Lucy and Twiggy are well behaved when it comes to the tree. Wish I could say the same for my cats. π

These two do not bother the tree. We had a Maine Coon cat who liked nothing better than to climb up the back of the tree and lay in the branches. He would also bat the ornaments at the lower levels. We finally went to plastic which he didn’t like very much. There were no glass explosions when they hit the floor so he lost interest. When Twiggy was a puppy we put a gate around the tree which worked. Thanks for the comment, Joan.

Glad Lucy got Twiggy’s attention to come in. If Twiggy was drawn away from the squirrels and deer, the tree going up must be a can’t-miss event. Great star, John.

Twiggy loves to sit outside. She watch’s the birds and is standing by in case the squirrel comes across the fence. I have to confess, Twiggy heard us moving the tree and boxes.

This was hilarious! I think Twiggy could have ruckussed (past tense of ruckus the verb?) with those ornaments if big sis hadn’t been there to keep her out of mischief. The tree turned out beautifully! (I do like the ornaments.)

Thank you, Liz. One thing you can’t see is we have been recording our Christmas’s on the ornaments since the beginning of the Producer and our relationship. We put the year and who was with us when the tree was decorated. We have 29 of those ornaments and they have captured some fond memories. Someties it is bitter sweet when it comes to placing them on the tree. π

What a lovely tradition. I hear you on such traditions becoming bittersweet as the years pass. I’ve reached that point with traditions, too.

What a wonderful Christmas tree! The best ever at the Twiggy Resort, dear John! I like to see Twiggy’s activity about the ornaments. She is a true romantic soul! While Lucy is an old guardian. There is nothing curious for her in the Christmas tree anymore. Thank you for this piece of Christmas mood, dear John! π πππ§¨

Beautifully done — both the tree and the photos/comments. I’ve heard of folks who don’t decorate because they claim their dogs would knock everything over — however, Dallas never messed with the tree or his presents underneath it. I think they have to be trained … and your two look perfectly content!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, training is key. When Twiggy was too young to know the concept of “No,” we put a gate around the tree. In this way there was no “attention getting,” opportunity.
