We going to do this, Little One?”
“Sure, why not?”
“Okay, Lucy. I guess we need to lay out the field.”
“The field? What do you mean?”
“You know. Get the lime. Layout the boundaries. Set the goals.”
“Oh, blech. Can we just skip all that?”
“We can, but it won’t be much of a game.”
“My point exactly. Patio, here we come.”
“Lucy. What’s that ladder thing at the neighbors?’
“I don’t know. They are noisy, though.”
“You can say that again. What’s that rumble?”
“I think they are using a jackhammer on something.”
“A little of that goes a long way.”
“Can you say annoying?”
“Wait. Did it stop?”
“I think. you are right.”
“And there it goes again.”
“I have to believe they are going to be here all day.”
“Not sure I can handle this.”
“I know I can’t. I’m going to a quiet place.”
“Not much quiet over here either. I’m heading back to the patio. At least there is sun there.”
“I guess you are right. Little One.”
“Well, it’s not perfect. I guess it is better than nothing.”
“Now you’re talking. I love optimism.”
“Yeah. It starts and stops, so I guess we can put up with it.”
“Dibs on this lounge. Gotta get some serious shut-eye. Send the server over if you can catch his eye.”
Those girls certainly keep the server on his toes, lols. Hope the disruptive noise doesn’t go on too long, John 🙂

Third day today. But we just have to put up with it. Thanks, Harmony.

Great dialogue, John. I wonder who the server might be? I love how they walk on the stone steps. Is that because the rocks are harsh on their paws or they just following in their mom and pops’ footsteps? 😊

They do the stonesbut when on the path Twiggy and Lucy make sure they hit the steps. (I don’t know why) It might be fun for them. Thanks. Gwen.

Hope the neighbour’s project doesn’t last too long. No fun when you can’t even enjoy your back yard. Server ain’t gonna wanna serve in that racket!

So true, Dale. We have no idea how long it’s going to go on. We are reasonable sure it won’t be forever. 😂

I hope the girls get a little peace and quiet today. There’s nothing worse than a beautiful day being ruined by noisy neighbors. Maybe some doggie earplugs?

Good idea, Jill. Getting them installed might be a problem. 😁

We had a neighbor who spent three days grinding up an entire tree. I was glad to go to work those days.

It looks like they are taking out a set of concrete stairs in the back. I think maybe they needed replacing. The houses over thirty years old.

No matter what’s happening in the neighborhood, la vita seems pretty darned dolce for this pair. Besides, what’s a little noise to pups who’ve got their own servers to wait on them paw and paw?

Bond feels their pain. When he’s trying to nap on the screened porch, the neighbors have the nerve to mow. So rude.

Those guys are smart. We’ve had the gas company laying new lines in our hood and there are flags of various colors everywhere to mark water, sewer, and the old gas lines so they can dig safely. Noisy and messy.

Nothing like a jackhammer in the neighbor’s yard. 🙂 Love that last line. “Yeah, and if you find him, send the server this way, too.” 🙂

Ugh! Jackhammers are the worst kind of noise pollution, but I guess when you need one there’s not much else that can do the job. It’s not fun listening to that all day, though.

Twiggy could see the potential field, but Lucy knows how to kaboosh an idea with grace. Of course, with Twiggy, that means just change the subject. ….. Hey …. Tweet tweet … Hey pool boy … How about a serving of the infamous Howell bourbon on the rocks?
