Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Lucy in the Warm Again

“What do you suppose happened out here?”

“Looks like the trees have finally let go of their leaves.”

“This yard was clean a day ago.”

“I know. I think the chilly weather made the trees dump their leaves.”

“I’m going to check out the patio  and see what’s happening there.”

“Now that the days are warm again, I’ll go with you.”

“All looks okay here. But, I wonder about Mom’s potting area.”

“This looks great out here. Maybe sunbath time.”

“Might be a good idea, but I must have a look-see first.”

“Never heard of the fate of the curious cat, I suppose.”

“What cat. I don’t smell a cat.”

“Never mind. I forgot how easily you are distracted. Looks like a lot of leaves here too.”

“You were saying about that sun bath?”

“Since it’s warm, I thought we could lay out.”

“Check out the roses. Looks like we are getting some more blooms.”

“Correct as usual, King Friday. They are beautiful.”

“I’m going to stake out my lounge. You coming?”

“Just want to look at this Mandeville. No blooms on it.”

“Boy, this is going to be a great day. It’s like summer all over again.”

“I agree. I wonder if mom will put more plants in this pot.”

“You can ask her.”

“After our sunbath. I think I will. This would be a good spot for some red cyclamen.

  1. How wonderful you’ve gotten another warm spell. They do realise it is temporary, right? That you are sure to get some cold snaps through winter… 😉
Looks like the leaf-sucker is coming out soon!

    1. It was clear two days ago. Yes the leaf sucker is scheduled for Saturday. I’m going to give it a couple of days so that the trees can do their thing. 😊

      1. Of course. Best to do it all (or most) in one fell swoop (or suck!)

  5. Sun sounds wonderful. We have an inversion out this way.

    1. It has been cloudy with drizzle for a few days so it is a welcome change. Sorry about the inversion.

  7. Lol! I’m easily distracted too! We’ve been unseasonably warm, but the fog during the morning commutes have been terrible.

    1. I can imagine. We had some earlier in the week but it didn’t interfere with my commute from the bedroom to the couch. 😁

  14. I love how they have to inspect everything. In that way (and with sunbathing) they are very much like a cat.

How lovely that you have spring-like temperatures again. We are finally seeing the sun after a week of rain and fog. For a while there, I felt like I was living on an English moor, LOL.

  15. You’ve got a lot of leaves to deal with, John. We haven’t seen the sun here all week, and it looks like it won’t make an appearance until after the weekend.

  17. I am jealous of the Producers potting stand and area. She certainly has a lot of flowers.
Iam also envious of your talking dogs. My dog could only say one word, “ roof”
    Sorry about that 🤪.
    Have a good day.

  20. Good call to wait upon the rest of the leaves to do their thing, John. I would often “clean up” the front yard only to find more leaves up the road were still plotting their final destination…our yard.

The trees are sure in the doghouse…no pun intended. Love the word, dump, as if they did it on the sly.

Twiggy and Lucy, house detectives. 🙂

    1. Yes we blame the trees for sneaking around and dumping leaves. 😁
