“The puma is surprised by the attack.”

“The panther tells the puma that she will take that wager.”
“Wager? What wager?”
“You just bet your life rather than surrender.”
“Okay by me, panther. You want a piece of me, come get it.”
“I can trash-talk with the best. Your old lady wears combat Boots.”

“I was watching an old Henny Youngman stand-up routine.”
“The puma has to avoid another onslaught from the panther.”
“The panther comes close to finishing off the puma.”
“Too bad. The puma pulls the old salamander trick and breaks free.”
“Hey, that move was outlawed in 05.”
“Well, tough. It still works. Want to rest?”
“I could go for a breather. Sure.”
“That was fun.”
“It sure was.”
“You okay?”
“I just love my sister.”
“Aw. You are the best.”

I never fail to cringe when I see dogs wrangling with each other because they always look so fierce. Like they’re going to tear one another from limb to limb! Then I have to remind myself that they’re only playing … and having a whale of a good time, too. Nicely handled, John, and it’s so sweet to see their loving relationship.

“Your mother wears combat boots” was a common taunt on my grade school playground. Now I’m wondering if Youngman picked up the line from the playground. It was fun to find it here. Just hope they never learn “So’s your old man.”
